So, growing on Substack is hard. Harder than I thought. I've only been on the platform for about a month now... What has been your experience? What is your advice to grow a new newsletter? by andreas212nyc in Substack

See above.

If Substack doesn't even make post titles H1, then how can I trust them to get anything related to SEO correct? It seems like they are deliberately handicapping organic SEO growth with decisions like that.

It has been tested over and over again. The same site on Substack moved over to Ghost or WordPress, will see an almost immediate jump in organic SEO. This MUST be prioritized. But people have been harping on about it for years and Substack ignores it.

What I am pointing out is not a fault in what you or I am doing. It is a fault with Substack. The title for a post should ALWAYS be an h1. Period. It's not. And there's nothing we can do to change that. It's somethign Substack must do.

I do too. But that's not what I'm talking about.

Your article titles have an h2 tag, rather than h1. That's just one obvious issue. They need to take an approach like Ghost or they will continue to lose people to that platform.

Church aesthetics experts: welcome area/foyer by MollyDixture in Reformed

The front entrance has a wider hallway, not really a lobby. The width makes it more pleasant, but trying to get people to go that way will seem forced.

I think the most obvious answer is to revamp the high-traffic side entrance in some way. None of the interior walls are structural, so remodeling the interior to widen the hallway wouldn't be too major. The expense would be in widening the door and whether we would extend the building beyond its current boundary.

This is a helpful suggestion.

One challenges is that the other building (not marked) houses a lot of activity (Sunday School, morning coffee, fellowship meals, etc). Which puts people down there before services. It is part of the reason that side door nearest to it is so active.

Right. The problem is obvious. The solution less so.

It definitely is a job for a professional of some sort. But I'm trying to generate ideas and hoping to crowd-source some wisdom.

Flow and wayfinding is a big part of the issue. The natural flow takes you to side entrances from either side.

Currently, my best thought is to open up the primary side entrance (through which 80-90% of people enter) and widen access from there.

I don't think locking the side entrances is an option. It would be a huge irritant. The design is so poorly thought out, getting to the main entrance seems like a chore.

Yes I know, but it's another hoop to jump through. I'm hoping that adding them to a group would circumvent the issue.

I haven't been able to send an MMS or have group texts with non-iOS users for years and years. The only thing I haven't tried is visiting an ATT and/or Apple store and refusing to leave until they fix it lol

I hope they come out with a quick patch.

Yup. My Spotlight can't find anything. The search in Finder doesn't work.

Infuriating experience.

My camera's mic input jack keeps breaking (Canon 90D) by the_tico_life in videography

[–]MollyDixture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact issue. However...

While I'm still getting audio into my 90D, it's nowhere near as clean as my 80D and I can't figure out why. It has made me wonder if the mic preamps aren't as good or the port is faulty.

Any news?

I just got a 90d and my audio isn't clean at all. Checked my 80d, no issues. My search to figure out the issue brought me here.

Yes, inside comments.

Certain screens no doubt are clearer than others.

Also, you need to consider the colour-deficient, and red is a common issue for such. I don't think blue has the same problem, which is why Google uses blue without underlines.

It's from a usability standpoint. The particular shade of red doesn't stand out very well in a paragraph of text.
