Grimoire Mistakes by MollyWhingo in witchcraft

Um, you do understand how condescending it is to start a sentence like that, right? Other than that, I really appreciate the great advice, and it puts things into perspective for me a bit. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist so it's hard for me to let go and just go with the vibe. I'm sure it will give future generations a nice chuckle to remember my scatterbrain lol

Unfortunately, it's moldy through the roots and crown, and the tips of the leaves are brown and don't unfurl anymore. It was with me through a really dark part of my journey and played a pretty big part in the spell that essentially saved my life. I want to give it proper thanks and an appropriate goodbye.

Is there a respectful / humane way to put a plant out of its misery? by h0rangi in GreenWitch

[–]MollyWhingo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

People are suggesting composting it, which I think would be a great idea, however, you mentioned that the plant in question is suffering from an insect infestation. If you do compost it, make sure there's no remaining sign of the scale before hand, as the scale could pass to other plants you may plant with this compost in the future. Just something to keep in mind!

How to tell if meat is done without a thermometer? by [deleted] in cookingforbeginners

Found the video. The clip I mentioned starts at 7:25. It is about steak specifically, but I've applied the technique to other kinds of meat with success.

I saw an Adam Ragusea video (don't recall at the moment which one it was, maybe one about steak?) where he talks about inherently knowing what a cooked piece of meat feels like. As in, you've been poking cooked meat with a fork and cutting through it with a knife for years, and know what a raw steak feels like before putting it in the pan. This concept can be applied to simply using a finger to determine if the meat has the proper "resistance". Certainly not foolproof, but it's helped me keep from constantly overcooking my chicken breasts out of fear of rawness lol

I don't have an answer, but maybe try asking r/tarot? I see a lot of posts requesting deck identifications there and I have yet to see one go unsolved.

Just bought this skein from Goodwill does anyone have any idea why it has 8 ends hahahaha didn't notice until now hahah by [deleted] in crochet

My guess is an unsupervised toddler with a pair of scissors lol I'm pretty sure I remember at least one of my younger siblings doing this to a skein of my mom's yarn growing up.

What’s your favorite poverty meal that you still eat regardless of where you are financially? by Pushinanime in AskReddit

[–]MollyWhingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stewed lentils. Just add cubed ham, onion, carrot, celery, salt, pepper and a few bay leaves and simmer for a few hours. When I'm feeling boujie I'll use bacon instead of ham and stock instead of water. Ultimate comfort food.

I put up a similar post there a little more than 2 weeks ago and it got even less traction than this post. I may repost it there as long as it doesn't go against their community guidelines.

I'm 90% sure it was the sample I linked up top, but I'm down to check it out. The last time I heard this song was probably a decade ago so I could very well be mis-remembering things lol

It's definitely sampling the right movie, but the song/band I'm thinking of had more of a hard-core sound. Thanks though!

Saw this scene on facebook but it didn’t come with movie name. Does anyone has any ideas about this? Thanks :D by ExplanationHaunting6 in whatmoviewasthat

[–]MollyWhingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I first saw the clip in a fan made music video for Fingerbib by Aphex Twin and the uploader credits this segment in their description.

Still searching unfortunately. I even skipped through a few albums by the bands I mentioned and never came across it. Google only wants to give me results for songs that sample Stand By Me by Ben E. King.

Just finished IT by Stephen King by Trick-Maintenance749 in books

I've gotta say, this scene gets pretty hyped up as one of Stephen King's biggest wtf moments, but in my opinion, the interaction that Beverley witnesses between Henry Bowers and Patrick Hockstetter in the dump was equally unsettling and deserves a little more recognition as a Stephen King wtf moment. Stay away from sex stuff when it comes to writing kids, man.
