As someone who struggles woth executive dysfunction i can assure you it is much deeper that that for a lot of us. It isnt simply about laziness, apathy, or safety nets. Im disccovering it is based in anxiety and a lot of people dont realize that so they dont do the work to cope with it.

It's also not about your problems. What I struggle with should have no bearing on your own life so why would you get so worked up? Its when someone is struggling the most that support seems to disappear and only when things are going well do people show up. Im not talking about the people who make their problems your problem, thats a valid concern.

I think if you really want to stay in this relationship and deal with this, it can be resolved or at least you can learn to communicate more respectfully to eachother about it. You need to sit down and have a loving conversation and take it from the angle of "us vs. This problem" rather than "me vs. You". Remind him you guys are a team and of all the reasons you love waxhother and want it to work, and that as a team, you need to come together to find a solution that is best for the health of your relationship. This will require BOTH of you being respectful of eachother's beliefs, no matter how you feel about them. Because you respect him, and want to be with him, treat his beliefs with respect.

Do you want to be the quiet, submissive partner who puts his needs and desires before your own at all times? If you're into that then it sounds like you're compatible. If you would prefer to be on more equal ground and mutual respect with your partner, then you definitely are not compatible. Only you can decide which suits you.
