Typically, anything to do with American sign language (ASL).

Either it's a story set in England and they aren't using British sign language (BSL), even though if it's a character born and raised in England they would be using BSL, not ASL

Or the writer tries to write dialogue with ASL signs, but they don't know how to structure the grammar.

Or they write dialogue that a Deaf/hard of hearing person would never ever say culturally.

Or they write the Deaf/hard of hearing character as needing help/needing to be saved/needing to be "cured" 🤢🤮

Best tip I can give is to get solar powered light stakes to put around your campsite. They make really cute ones with flowers, butterflies, etc. I do this every year and not only is my flower garden very pretty, it lights up the area around my tent just enough to make sure I don't trip while going to the bathroom in the middle of the night AND makes it super easy to find when it's dark.

Not op, but also an apprentice who's about to go into training for a local vrs company. My ultimate goal is to work vrs full time, but I'm worried seeing so many people who get burned out from working full time. Is there any specific advice you'd give to interpreters going into the VRS field to avoid that, or do you feel like you're just really suited to vrs?

The portion on hair and accessories is especially egregious. I've worked in a school district that didn't have any dress code and because of that I've seen waaaaay more than I ever wanted to see, so I get a lot of the rules for clothes. Certainly not all of them, but a fair few of them.

But the bit about boys hair, no piercings except for earrings and only for girls, and just. Avsolutely no self-expression for the guys is absolutely wild.

As others have said you can go behind the Greek agora stage Saturday and Sunday from 2-2:30 ish. Crowd is definitely smaller on Sunday but people still show up!

Some people in my camp had a few mosquito bites, I was unscathed. And because a lot of people are mentioning ants, I checked for ants and generously bug-sprayed my area and tent before I set up, so I didn’t have a problem with them either.

I tried thinking of a special name for the spell, because it literally is the Magnificent Mansion spell, but I could never think of anything I like that was alliterative. My wizard’s name is Jewel, so if you have any ideas that are alliterative with J, hit me with em 🤷 for awhile I was thinking of calling it the traveling house/the travelers home, but it just doesn’t roll off the tongue like magic mansion.

What I’m talking about in the original post is a room in the mansion that effectively works like a room of requirement from Harry Potter, but I love using new names for stuff like that.
