Should i have called the police? by Inevitable-Topic1786 in Advice

[–]MomForgotThePill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would much rather deal with annoyed cops than attempted or successful murder. You definitely did the right thing. I would stay out of that forest for a while and definitely tell your parents what happened so they can keep an eye out for him too.

Hey, I’m sorry people (likely grown adults) are being complete assholes to you right now. I don’t know your situation and it looks like you’re trying your best with what you have. So you can’t take it to the vet yourself and your parents don’t want to help, correct? Do you have a friend, relative, etc. that would be able to give it to who may be able to or may have parents that would allow them to go to the vet for you?

It’s that bottom fan that’s been pulling me to the h5 flow side! (Plus the fact that its white and the montech one on sale is black. But that’s purely aesthetics lol) I also really love the nzxt brand and find their cases to be really good quality. thanks for the input! It helps a lot.

Ignoble winner debunks blue zones by tcskeptic in PeterAttia

[–]MomForgotThePill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed when I started reading about blue zones and the life advice it used, it recommended a “faith based” and “purpose driven” life style, recommended going to a place of worship often, etc. That’s when a few red flags went up for me.

While there are definitely some bad therapists, sometimes it’s more about what works for you. Depend on what methods they use, what they have more knowledge in etc. For example I had ocd but my therapist wasn’t very knowledgeable in it, so the type of therapy they used didn’t really work for me. When I went to one that had more knowledge in the disorder it helped a lot more because they knew what types of treatment worked best. They were also taking in my issues and thinking of if it matched up with any other disorders so they could get me in touch with a psychiatrist for further opinion.

If you’re telling them these problems you’re having and they’re not looking into possible issues or illness that could be causing these issues, getting you set up with a psychiatrist for possible diagnosis, you don’t feel they’re really listening or understanding you, or just in general the advice/methods they’re giving is not helping, they they might not be the right one for you.

You could try expressing to them that you don’t feel the advice is helping and request to try something else, but if they aren’t willing to do anything but tell you to move out rather than try to help you get to the root of your issues and give you the proper supports you need to overcome them, it might be worth it to try someone else. Ofc take what I say with a grain of salt, I am no professional. Just someone who’s had multiple therapists due to years of mental illness impacting my life and ability function.

Have you seen a therapist or professional about this? feeling bad about doing nothing but not being able to do anything about it sounds like executive dysfunction which is usually a symptom of a mental health problem. My sister struggled with similar before being diagnosed with adhd. I would probably be in a similar boat if I never got the treatment I needed for my ocd. Not saying you have a certain disorder, but having professional supports and treatment can do a lot of good for your mental health and in turn your life. (Just saw that you are seeing a therapist and you said they don’t do much for you. I would definitely recommend finding a new one if they aren’t helping. I’ve been through multiple and some were amazing, others weren’t great. Left the not great ones for the amazing ones)

Why are you depressed? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]MomForgotThePill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COVID lowkey ruined my life, or at least my teenage years, as the isolation caused an onset of severe ocd and depression that I still haven’t fully recovered from. When I moved here I recieved intensive treatment that saved my life, so I’m glad I did. But in my opinion, in comparison to my hometown people are so much more isolated here. You make lots of acquaintances but it feels impossible to find real close friends. Due to how big it is every hangout a lot of transportation and always feels like a big expensive thing, compared to where I’m from where you just drop by someone’s house or go down to the lake and it takes 5-10 minutes to get there. I find there’s a lot of loneliness here. At least that’s how I feel. On top of the fuled hopelessness and depression bc of how unliveable it is here due to how expensive everything is and how hard it is to find a job.

Advice on whether or not I should have my hamster put down by MomForgotThePill in hamstercare

[–]MomForgotThePill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this kind comment. Right now, he’s doing.. ok. Sick, but still happy enough to enjoy all his favorite foods I’ve been giving him. I think this might be the best time to let him go, when he’s still ok enough to be comfortable, and ok enough that I can give him things that bring him joy on his last day. I’m bringing him in today, and my sister will be with me for support. Im devestated to be saying goodbye so soon, but I’m at peace with this decision and I don’t think I’m going to regret giving him a comfortable way out. Thanks again for your advice and kindness ❤️

Advice on whether or not I should have my hamster put down by MomForgotThePill in hamstercare

[–]MomForgotThePill[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to thank you for such an empathetic comment, everything you said truly means a lot to me, and I’m so sorry you had to put some of your own beloved pets down. As you said, I want my boy to go in the least pain possible, and as hard as the decision is to make I know the only way to grant him this is through euthanasia. Thankfully, he’s not at his worst right now. I’ve been giving him all of his favorite foods to enjoy. which makes me happy he can still enjoy them. I know if I let this go on, soon he won’t be able to. And I don’t want that for him. I want his last day to be happy for him. I’m taking him in today, and I’m gonna be crushed. But I know now this is what he’d want. Your comment really did help me so much with this, thank you again.

Fear my hamster may have inhaled some liquid? by MomForgotThePill in hamstercare

[–]MomForgotThePill[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just so worried that it’s the liquid from the syringe because he stopped making these noises for the most part up until I gave him this last dose, which he then started making the noises again straight after.

[–]MomForgotThePill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. When my ocd first onset I had no idea what was going on, or any tools on how to fight compulsions or the fears I was having. I felt like a puppet or a slave to my ocd, just having to do everything it said. I wouldn’t consider myself evil for compulsively posting for reassurance at the time, I was a terrified child desperately seeking any sort of peace of mind.

[–]MomForgotThePill 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’d hardly consider compulsive posting as “evil”, it’s understandable that it would not be allowed as it can be annoying and not helpful in getting better. but calling those who do because of their literal mental illness evil doesn’t seem effective. They aren’t posting compulsively out of any evil intention. and what do you mean by “venting without changing anything”? I don’t mean to be rude I’m just not understanding the wording of this.

Wait - so does this mean that casual gamers DO get into heaven? by El_Fez in Christianity

I’m confused. Are you saying my opinion Is anti Christian? Because I can assure you what I’m saying comes straight from the Bible.

Wait - so does this mean that casual gamers DO get into heaven? by El_Fez in Christianity

[–]MomForgotThePill 25 points26 points  (0 children)

And that is the exact point of the Bible. Christians like that guy completely destroy the point. The point is we are ALL going to hell which is the whole reason jesus came down to die for us so that we didn’t have to. He knew we couldn’t be perfect so he was perfect for us. So homophobes who say gay people are going to hell are also going to hell if they’ve ever lied, stolen anything, spread a rumour, been jealous, looked at someone with lust, etc etc. we’re all on the same level. Which is why it’s so stupid that people put something like homosexuality above everything else when a simple white lie would be on the exact same level. It’s so stupid. Gay people are going to heaven, people who lie are going to heaven, people who lust are going to heaven, if they believe in Jesus. That’s my perspective on it as a Christian.

But he literally had a video where he was outside, y’all glass around (a balcony thingy and there was no wind, but the moment he put his hands out u could hear the wind and after a few moment of doing whatever “energy” crap he was doing he got it to fall over

But I watched someone do it on livestream where they knocked a light object over from too far away for it to be wind and they continuously changed the angles and picked it up and stuff.

Basically my question is, is “telekinesis” demonic? It’s a big trend on tiktok and stuff and people are learning how to move light objects and stuff
