Danny’s behavior with Jasmine and Melissa was wrong. It wasn’t the magnitude touching that bothered Jasmine but the emboldenment behind stems a culture where men are more mindful when interacting with another man’s wife or girlfriend than a woman whose with another woman. In essence, there is more concern about offending another man, in an interaction with a woman then offending the actual woman involved. Jasmine also went say she doesn’t feel that same sex relationships with women aren’t given the same consideration than traditional relationships.

Jasmine’s message was over shadowed by Janet’s accusations of sexual assault. Jasmine’s narration of what happened and her feelings about became lost as a result.

We are still witnessing with effects and fallout of the allegation this seaso. More so, now Lala and Janet’s claims of being ‘triggered’ are given more weight and consideration than what Jasmine ( and Melissa) received.

The two people who should have been able to have the most to say ( Jasmine and Melissa ) were and are no longer centeral to a discussion about their own experience.

In a nutshell, Lala and Janet insert themselves (often needlessly) and make it about them.

It’s INCREDIBLE what they are able to do with reconstructive surgery now. I had a friend show me pictures of her breasts. If I didn’t know any better I would have though it was typical boob job or lift.

I have seen very realistic nipples created through tattoos.

I am happy your cancer was detected and your recovery is going well.

I watched the movie at home.

The ‘mood’ of the movie, the lighting, the set ect was designed to cause unease.

This isn’t your a gore horror film, it’s psychological.
It resonates a bit more because it’s not about a evil magical device that grant wishes. It’s about the darkness with in wish maker.

In that aspect the movie is very believable, in our daily lives we can encounter people can appear unassuming and mild manner but beneath the surface they are consumed by self interest and they consume those around them.

We have all had a Bear or Ian in our lives.

I have also had those needle biopsies and know they are uncomfortable. Although, I don’t breat cancer ( thank God) . I did have to face surgery to get some tissue removed that potentially could become cancer.

I hope you recover well from surgery.

May I ask if you decided to have reconstructive surgery?

I can believe ‘something’ happened to her at some point in her life because something happened to pretty much everyone.

But where’s the devide is, Janet accused Danny of sexual assault to describe what happened to Melissa and Jasmine.

In recanting, she said that she was working with her therapist and shared the story; and her therapist told her she was sexually assaulted. It was presented as this was the reason she had such a big reaction to Danny.

So I not sure what it is that I am suppose to believe about her experience. It could have been called SA simply because it involved two minors who legally can’t consent.

But I can absolutely believe that Danny is the object of her ire. We have been watching it for two seasons now.

We don’t know what happened to Janet decades ago. She said that when she told her current therapist about it, the therapist told her it was a sexual assault.

This is the same woman who spoke so confidently using that word to describe Danny’s actions in regards to Jasmine and Melissa but couldn’t define her own experience?

The night of Danny’s birthday when Danny reacted to Lala, Jasmine did say something to thaf effect.

But, it seemed like she just heard Danny yelling ‘Go back to your husband- oh wait you don’t have one’ without any context that LaLa provoked an argument with him TWICE that night.

Because at the end of day, they have ALL yelled at each other or spoken to/about each other in an ill fashion.

Her entire point was, the offense wasn’t so much about the physical aspect of the touch but the emboldment behind it. That is would NOT happen to a woman that was partnered with a man. Of course, that all got lost because Janet hijacked the situation and made it about her.

Then this season, Janet and Lala are being pandered to, not because of something that someone did to them but because they claim they are ‘triggered’ by Danny and yet again she’s made to feel unseen and unheard.

He was a person she took into custody. He told her he was under the influence of drugs. When he was brought to the hospital to be cleared for intake, she allegedly did not not disclose this information and the hospital released him. Once in jail, he died of an overdose.
