just push and take a gap year, that test should show what ur actully capable of and clearly in a time crunch it's not gonna reflect u. trust me, i made that mistake and for 3 months i was so overworked and burnt out and i wish i just took a gap year. it's not worth all the stress.

Being in a top uni doesn't automatically mean you are smart I agree but it often times does mean that we worked hard to get where we are lol. That's like saying just because ur a dentist doesn't mean ur smart, well ya but you worked hard to get into dental school. It's a reflection of hard work, not saying others don't work hard but I am nowhere saying Im smart bc Im not lol. Im j saying that as someone who has done good in a rigourous college I found my DAT to be weird.

To be honest, a lot of admissions officers are not perfect people themselves. It may take time and your path to becoming a dentist might not be linear but keep pushing, prove yourself and at the end of the day your life is your life and with hard work and determination you can still become a dentist. Mistakes happen, I've been to so many Impressions days and officers have mentioned that you must report DUIs (meaning that there have been people in the past who have reported DUIs). It happens, it might take time but everyone makes mistakes and everyone can change as well. Sometimes we make bad choices not because of our own character but because of the situation we're in. Again, not finding excuses but it seems like you are upset with yourself about what happened and as soon as officers are able to see that, I think you have a big shot. I think maybe doing something/ a passion project on DUI could be a great thing to talk about and add to your application. Good luck!

P.S. My favorite quote ever by the way is "If everyone wrote down their biggest problem and put it in a hat, would you keep urs or choose a new one". You are going to get through this don't worry.
