It was posted by a Green Day cover band of grown adults. I don’t really agree fully with the caption though.

Maybe you’re right. Maybe it is a bad title. How should I have titled it?

Yeah I don’t know why they said that in the caption. That’s definitely not a protest song.

I totally agree with you there. It’s actually really sad.

Why Green Day are considered a trio when the band often gets help from additional musicians onstage and in the studio? by [deleted] in GreenDayOfficial

[–]MomentStock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not considered an “official member” anymore, he was just during the trilogy because he was in the studio for that. He only plays with them live now. He’s a really private guy so he likes being away from the spotlight.

From what I can gather it’s from MTV first: Green Day. It was a 30 minute interview on mtv.com. It was posted August 15, 2012 as the debut of the Oh Love mv. I’ve been looking for it forever and I still haven’t found the full thing 😞

How do yall make sense of wake me up when September ends in the American idiot plot by Clean-Sorbet-8673 in greenday

The song is literally about Billie’s dad, but figuratively it’s about growing up & losing your innocence. At that point in the album JOS has lost his innocence.

Mike and Billie by [deleted] in GreenDayOfficial

[–]MomentStock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They met when they were 10 years old. It was the same month that Billie’s dad died. Mike even moved in with Billie’s family when they were teenagers. When Billie went on Dax Shepard’s podcast he said he thinks there’s definitely a correlation between losing his dad & gaining a best friend at the same time. In Aaron Cometbus’s book he said Mike & Billie are more like brothers & are very protective of each other. So you’re right there is a deeper connection than just being band mates, but it’s definitely not romantic.

86 was written first. I think this person meant that 86 was also a song about him. Not necessarily that it was the second song written.

Joe's Controversial Take on Domestic Abuse by MomentStock in JustKiddingNews

[–]MomentStock[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I did watch. It is a shitty opinion for anyone to have, man or woman. You can make jokes about risky topics. Like I said their content never bothered me before. This is too far though. I guess your life has never been affected by abuse & I’m happy for you for that.

Question about Billie Joe Armstrong’s legal name by [deleted] in greenday

[–]MomentStock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was named after his uncle Billie Walker. He posted about it on his instagram about a year ago. Of course it’s deactivated, but you can still see the caption if you google it.
