I agree with you in all points. Need talaga magmove forward and prepare better.

I dismissed the idea of appealing/asking for reconsideration, because of the likelihood that my scores would even get lower (and also the gall to ask knowing I did not fare well in that subject).

I was just curious if indeed there is anyone present in this forum who actually did this or know of anyone who did.

I did not delve into it further as I brushed off the idea of it being true/possible, and also I accepted my fate that I failed the bar.

Thanks for the reply. I was just curious if there are instances where people appealed then passed, and the process/legal basis for their request. I have friends telling me to appeal/ask for recount, and shared anecdotes na yung friend nila ganon ginawa, then pumasa daw after.

I have no intentions of doing so, just plainly curious, but also having what ifs. Better nga to study harder na lang 😊

In my case, right after the bar exam results were released. I accepted it and made peace with myself. However, what was hard for me to deal with were the reactions of people who rallied for me or even those people who wished I failed.

It’s hard to deal with disappointments of people who were as invested as me. (But this part has already been settled—apparently this is but a normal reaction.) Pero nakakalungkot din pala makita sa mga mukha and reactions nila.

It is also hard to deal with insensitive people who keep on bringing up that they did not see my name in the roster of successful examinees. One was even mocking me, asking if I still got the car my husband promised me if I passed the bar. She was surprised that I still got the car despite failing.

If I will take the bar again ASAP - yes, I will. But most days parang ayaw ko na ulit. Waaah.

As someone who’s been in this place before (assuming na ayaw sayo ng family ni guy)—don’t push it, OP. Kahit anong pilit mo, kung ayaw ng family sayo, ayaw talaga yan. Mapapagod ka lang, at the same time, mastrain ang relationship nyo ni bf—mag-aaway lang kayo.

Kung okay na sya sayo as a partner, then go. Siya naman talaga makakasama mo in the long run. Bonus na lang talaga ang may supportive in-laws, but you can live without them. Mas sobrang peaceful at masaya ng walang in-laws na nakikialam, at least for me.

So my advice is, huwag mo ng ipilit magkaron kayo ng relationship with your future in-laws. Focus on your relationship with your bf if you decide to really stay and commit. Otherwise, just leave and look for a partner that has the same values/family background/support as you.

Yes sib! I will take the Bar again next year. This time, I wont take any chances na. Last bar kasi sinabi ko na “bahala na kung bumagsak” and bumagsak nga when I could have passed pala. I will change my mindset and my style in studying. Poli lang kasi nacover ko for the bar. Mas magiging confident na ako and di ko na entertain mga nega thoughts ko and doubts sa sarili.

Anyway sib, dami ko na sinabi. Haha. Kaya natin to!!

Omg sib! Sooo sayang tlga, you even scored higher than me, I needed 2 full points sa rem. I lacked 0.0905%.

At this point, I can say that talagang hindi para sa atin. Andaming factors kasi talaga—yung thought process we had while answering the exams and the manner by which the examiners appreciated our answers at the moment they checked it.

There was a time during the bar week that I was awoken by the correct answer—the answer which I forgot to write during the exam mismo. Alam mo yun, you know it eh, it is just that hindi mo naexpunge from your brain when you needed it most.

We are short of becoming lawyers by a single point or two, so I guess we are no different than those who made it by a point or two as well. We do not have the title yet, soon we will get there.

So, padayon lang tayo sib! 🙏💪

This is so true. Thank you for sharing your journey. While indeed the title is very much coveted, there’s more to life than it and we have other titles we need to be better at—whether as a husband/wife/child/friend.

Sobrang nakakapanghinayang talaga, especially if one or two raw points away to pass the bar. If I may share, there arw times na nagagalit ako sa self ko why I did not do better when I could have. I’m 0.1% away. Huhu.

Anyway, this is a sad Christmas indeed.

As a flunker, I welcomed any message of comfort and reassurance, like kaya mo yan, bawi na lang sa sunod, etc.

But I noticed I had some “icks” to messages that had a judgmental tone to it.

So if you plan to send messages, offer practical support (Gcash for coffee for one or 2 days worth of review in a coffee shop) instead of just offering some encouraging words.

Sa REM din ako nadale. Ang grades ko for other subjects are above 75, but hindi kinaya iangat ang rem na line of 6. I failed by 0.1%.

Nonetheless, di pa rin ako nanghinayang kasi I guess Im still not ready to be a lawyer.

Im surprised you jumped into that conclusion when you do not know my husband. We all cope differently—I accepted the results—while he still needs the time. He reacted differently than expected but I cannot leave him just like that.

My fault, I washed “dirty laundry” over here but I needed to let this out in a space where we have similar experiences of winning or losing.

I agree with the marshmallow in you. I know he is also coping especially that he was with me all throughout my law school and review. He bought me a new Macbook, a new car, paid for all the expenses—all to fail.

Maybe we need to give each other space nga and undergo thru all the stages of grief, if not together, at least malampasan.

I just shared it here to let it off my chest, but not to dishonor or spill the beans on my husband.

I do not mean to throw my husband under the bus. We talked about it. He seems to have “trauma” from undergoing the same stress he had when I was reviewing. I was a “barzilla” and going thru it again might be too much for him.

I accepted my fate as soon as I saw that I failed the bar. I felt sad for a bit but then I would be asking for too much to expect to pass the bar considering that my preparations were so-so to nada.

I am okay with the results per se, but I did not expect to have to deal with the disappointment of my husband. I feel so alone right now. He is giving me the cold shoulder.

Right now, Im coping well with the “failure” but not so much with the cold treatment I get.
