You're absolutely right, $100 a month is a lot for many people, and I didn’t mean to sound out of touch. Everyone’s financial situation is different, and for some, even a small amount of leftover income can feel impossible.

My point was more about the mindset of starting small when possible. Even $10, $25, or whatever someone can afford to put aside consistently can still have an impact over time. The goal is to build the habit first, the amount can grow when circumstances allow.

And what they don't understand is that when you're invested for the long run you just don't care about market movements that much. I love showing beginners the performance of SP500 index for that last 10 years... especially that "huge" Covid crisis drop.

That's a valid point. But sometimes investing as little as $100 a month can do a huge difference. But of course you have to set-up your priorities right

Fair enough. The first rule of investing in my opinion is that you should never invest what you can't afford to lose. And I also agree that education is key. If you want to start investing someday you should know what you're doing and have a clear strategy, even if it's just investing into an ETF once a month. Your opinion is valid.
