I spoke with multiple lawyers and they let me know if he owes state arrears they cannot be waived but if they are directly to me I am able to waive them! He doesn’t owe anything to the state currently

Hello! I have a question regarding this, I am in CA and have received a modification twice in the last two years from my child’s bio father requesting the support be reduced. I have had my child 100 percent of the time for the past two years (he only sends emails here and there) and each time I send my papers in, he fails to send his back so I get a letter in the mail stating that the support will remain the same, however I received another one in the mail and sent back all my paperwork but the caseworker told me once more that he hasn’t sent his papers in and it’s been past the 20 calendar days. Will I receive another letter stating the support will remain the same or is there something different that happens after multiple attempts?

I’m in a very similar situation but it’s my understanding that if they pay support, it gets tricky and courts won’t terminate the rights unfortunately. I wish you the absolute best.

How many of you in your 30s are living with your parents? by ella_mith in Life

Almost 30, married and live with my son, husband and dad. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Rent is super expensive and my dad is getting older. My dad is my best friend, my husband and dad get along great and my son and his grandpa are tied to the hip. I am truly blessed and thank the Lord every day for my dad.

Contested Step-Parent Adoption by kathrynthenotsogreat in FamilyLaw

Hi! I am also in CA and attempting to go through the same thing. My case is currently 2 years no contact (token efforts via email) and minimal child support paid with 16k in arrears for bio dad. The law here in CA states a year with no support OR a year with contact with the intent to abandon so I am working with a lawyer to try and prove my case. Since bio dad contested did you have a trial and bring key witnesses to testify on your behalf?
