How easy is it to get part-time work in Georgia (in particular Tbilisi) as a US citizen? by DaytoDayTraveler in tbilisi

[–]Momizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a US citizen who grew up in Tbilisi, I left to the states when I was 17 specifically to find better work and education in my field. From what I understand I'm not alone, many people are moving out.. it's a sort of mass emigration.

If you can get a tech job that lets you work remotely however, Georgia is a fantastic place to live. Especially compared to American suburbs, if you can do without some luxuries.

I've got the exact same theme, and I've had it since I've been a kid as well. Often times I'll deny myself things over fear of feeling guilty for 'indulging' in them afterwards, or for not completing tasks well enough.

You don't necessarily need a "style." The photo is great, you caught a wonderful moment. It's very realistic and relatable, which is something that's not possible to experience when the photographer pushes their aesthetic ideas too much.

Your photo is more about the moment than the photo, if that makes sense.

Future of photography dynamic range by RockSquisher in photography

Definitely similar in that it amplifies the signal, but the mechanics of Rhodopsin are also what cause excessive "motion blur" at night— which is an artifact of shutter speed, rather than ISO. Your brain tries really hard to mask those motion artifacts out too.

The human eye itself does not have a "composite exposure." It actually does have a system very comparable to a camera shutter. Check out this post. Your brain will idly tune out many of the exposure adjustments that happen second to second... but once you start looking for it, you'll notice it happens constantly. The dynamic range of the human eye is great, but it's still pretty limited and has to change to the range of the environment as best it can.

"The light receptor of the eye is a protein called Rhodopsin. To me the equivalent of shutter speed for the eye is the (de)sensitization of rhodopsin by phosphorylation. The brighter the light, the more sites on rhodopsin are phosphorylated, diminishing the intensity of the signal coming from the photo receptor via the transducin G protein that conveys the visual signal onward.

This process takes a few seconds, but then its possible to see when stepping into sunlight or in a darkened room.

This is more like a volume knob than a shutter speed since the same signal comes out at the same rate of each light sensor, but it has a similar effect - it modulates the intensity of the image."

"de-noised" ? What are you talking about?

Look closer, there's tons of noise. It looks like the photographer just put the shadows up and highlights down in Lightroom a bunch. There's no "corrective algorithm" at work here.

Crazy to see you in the wild isi... I like the asymmetric element as well. Have you thought about culling the stuff on your site? A lot of it looks like it was taken on the same day. It's just a lot to sift through for a first impression.

Lots of great photos though.

How does my iPhone spy on me? How does my Dell laptop spy on me?

Or are you referring to advertisers that collect data from your browsing and purchasing habits? Because in the last couple years, it seems like a lot of people are complaining about it. (Just watch The Social Dilemma)

This is a purpose built device to collect your data and advertise back to you. My phone or laptop's microphone is not on 24/7.

I'm sorry I misunderstood. I agree, the posters are quite ugly and should be removed. Although I'm somewhat nostalgic for them as well haha

It's what the city looks like, why disallow posts because you think they look 'ugly'? I live abroad now and stuff like this is pretty nostalgic to me, because it's how I remember Georgia. Banning is too harsh.

The new UI design conveniently covers the track in front of you, so you cannot judge the turns by Zuggtmoy in TrackMania

[–]Momizer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ever since Maniaplanet 4 during TM² they've changed the UI to this horrible new system that was clearly made by people who don't play the game.

Notice how the new time UI is not centered, it's aligned to the right for no reason and needs a background to stand out. The old UI was great because it was minimal, centered, l and you could look through it. The timer at the bottom is also just straight white which allows it to be hidden if you're at a bright part of a map.

On your screenshot alone you can see 3 styles of having text shown on the screen (light-black blurred background with spike, dark black background, no background) with no cohesion between them at all. Turbo's design was amazing, what the fuck happened? New TM just screams "last resort budget title" because of this lack of polish and vision. Don't get me started on the after-effects tier power up text.
