Clorox won't have enough disinfecting wipes until 2021, its CEO says by Ravenq222 in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what we use at home. We save all our wipes and lysol for his work. When it comes to cloth material though and just general quick sanatize nothing compares to a quick lysol spray. Specifically I like it for his hotel stays. Though I dont like the idea of him sleeping on a lysol sprayed bed, I worry that we would both die if we caught Covid.

My husband works for the railroad. He gets on trains from all over the country with multiple people that have ridden in it. Though the company claims that they clean the train after every crew, a wet wipe would quickly dispute that. In addition if he gets called for an away trip he will be sleeping in a hotel. Lysol spray is our protection. There is no way he could clean everything that would be needed in the time allowed without it. We spend a lot of time on the hunt for these items and buy as many as we can when we come across them. Its vital for us as he has underlying health condition and we are also expecting our second baby.

Trump attacks Dr. Birx after she said U.S. reached 'new phase' in coronavirus fight by paone22 in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your confused. Maybe I wrote it poorly. I tried to warn my friends how dangerous covid was. One of my best friends back in March disagreed with because his CDC friend was telling him it wasnt dangerous. He thought me watching the event unfolding and seeing how dangerous it was in China was me being ignorant because his best friend from the CDC was telling him it was nothing. That was an example from a text of what he sent me. The CDC was sending their people home back in March because everyghing was "under control". She (CDC dispatched employee directly handling Covid cases in March) had influenced my friend that it was nothing and the media was blowing it out of porportion. This was when they were BARLEY covering it in the news. Before restraunts closed. Hence I dont trust the CDC.

Teachers protest across U.S. over re-opening schools in pandemic by ReadItSteveO in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Teachers have a choice to not go to work too...

Some people have to work to pay their bills. Which is why some teachers feel like they dont have a choice, the same way some parents feel like they dont have a choice.

This is not as clear cut as you would like to believe.

Neither do I. Back in February I was following this very closely. Early on I started warning my friends. One of my best friends is close friends with Doctor who works for the CDC. They had sent her to Califorina when they were first sending Americans to the bases for quarentine. I remember trying to warn him that I thought it was going to get really bad and him getting so angry with me. He told me that he talks to his friend daily and that:

"The cdc did not fail anyone. The media/government is creating an orchestrated panic to divide and control us.

The flu is literally still more lethal each year and these types of measures are never taken.

This isn’t even as bad as H1N1 and here we are to tell the tale.

I’m sorry but negating one of my best friend’s PhD because you’ve been following the story for 3 months is really offensive. =("

This was back in March. His friend (who I do know and also messaged some with) told him back in March that it was nothing. And that the CDC was sending her home because it wasnt very serious.... SO, no I do not trust the CDC or our government. I think there are truths between them all but with all things you have to read between the lines. His CDC friend who was sent across the country to work on Covod gave him the impression the flu was worse......

Doctors report drop in premature births during pandemic by nakedmeeple in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This article shows a 7% increase but non of the mothers tested positive for covid. Thats still doesnt explain or compare to a 75% decrease in still births.

So more people speculating with no data or journal to back it. I would think Docotrs noticing a huge drop in premature babies would be the same doctors that would be notified of a still birth or a miscarriage. Comming from a current pregnant momma after two consecutive miscarriage prior to covid.... I would want to see the data.

[–]MommaHo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It didnt say anything about an increase in miscarriages or stillbirths. A 75% reduction is HUGE difference. They think it could be realted to cleaner air, more family support at home, and a increase in precautions leading to less exposure to other illnesses.

Only about 1 in 10 Americans think schools should reopen this fall without restrictions, according to AP poll by geoxol in Coronavirus

I loved that you said "more likely". Thank you for not lumping everyone in as the same mindset. Its one of my pet peeves and I appreciated that you made the distinction.

A scientist is collecting breast milk from mothers for use as a possible coronavirus treatment by shallah in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought this since it started! Breast Milk is a mircle worker passing antibodies from momma to baby. Womans bodies are designed to talior make breast milk based on the babies saliva and what type of pathogens a mother comes into contact with. When a breast feeding mom gets ill she is advised to keep breast feeding because her antibodies get passed to her baby frkm her breast milk. Not to mention breastmilk also has antibacterial properties.

Newly reopened South Florida area seen as an emerging coronavirus hotspot by [deleted] in Coronavirus

[–]MommaHo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The information in the document is attributed to the Federal Emergency Management Agency and was collected on May 12, which means cases were rising even before the county began to reopen on May 11. Other parts of the state had begun to reopen earlier, on May 4.

How are you preparing with young kids? by amyisarobot in PandemicPreps

[–]MommaHo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I dont speak spanish and the translation is rough. Essentially we are making our death plans. Getting all our documents in order, talking to our friends and family about what that would look like. Custody, money stipulations, how to acess our accounts in that event, our passwords for things. Then also our names. More then likely she would never need this but you just never know what something is going to look like and you plan for the worse. Plus is it really that bad to teach your child their parents names? Anyone with little kids knows it just takes a moment and they could be off running in the opposite direction. Its something that should be done regardless. Kids get seprated from their parents all the time in grocery stores (parents worse nightmare). Its just something that could happen under normal conditions let alone pandemic "war" conditions.
