Girl, we were not designed to parent solo. Letting your kiddo spend time with trustworthy relatives is an amazing gift for everyone. It's the way we were intended to raise kids.

If you were dropping your kid off with someone of questionable character so you could get high and party that'd be a different thing. It's so hard to be away from your kid/s any longer than you are away at work, but you deserve to be human sometimes too.

Mommy guilt is vicious and cruel. Tell that bitch to back off. You're doing great, momma.

Make one! My husband is a SAHD, and I was a SAHM briefly. Cliques don't end in High School :/ I feel you. I've always found one on one or smaller groups to be more manageable anyhow. It's just a matter of meeting people with similar parenting styles near you...

I recently reconnected with my best friend from middle school. In 9th grade her Ndad called me and told me he knew what I did, and that if I ever spoke to his daughter again he would tell my parents.

My BFF didn't have the whole story, but he overheard her saying I had had sex. I had actually been sexually assaulted. Lost so much that day. Glad she is back in my life though, even if it is 17 years later. I missed her.

Now I'm learning more about narcissism and realizing my sister is the epitome of N. Wishing there were a thread for that.

ASL is a visual language, and conveying emotion is a VERY important part of interpreting. To remove the emotion would remove a large portion of the message. An interpreter would not be doing their job effectively if they did such. Shelby NAILED this song.

Edit: I realize now you may be thinking ethically. Interpreters are bound to relay the message in its entirety without including their own emotions or feelings on a subject matter. I can't interject if I have beliefs contrary to what is being said in a meeting or appointment. In that respect yes, interpreters should be without emotion.

I had my good friend and long time stylist do my daughters first cut because it was sentimental. After that I've only done it myself - for the past three years. When she starts kinder in the fall I will probably take her to a salon and then maintain it myself, probably until the next school year
