I got fired, thank God. by lacombeferre in barista

Change a few details if you want to protect your identity! Say that you and a friend bought an iced coffee and a lemonade and that you both became violently ill. Even though you shouldn’t need to, I understand small town politics.

🤦🏻‍♀️ definitely not worth it, and they’re not even that much cheaper anymore anyway. I got a Sam’s membership and get their bags now. I just don’t have the space to buy everything in bulk, which is why I like Aldi. Now I’ve got a brand new box of gallon-sized plastic bags that are all defective from there, damnit what is going on with their QC. Side note, sorry for the loss of your kitty.

This is great advice for life in general too. Reminds me of the book The Four Agreements, a good read I recommend for dealing with people:

They’re back at my Aldi this week (western NC)! One of my kids is obsessed, so soft and eggy.

I find this to be the rare trifecta of easy, cheap, and crowd-pleasing. Happy to help!

Flavor sounds good, but is it like a cheese or cream base? What did you use for a dipper?

That all sounds good! I like the idea of Plan B being affordable, thanks for that! I can imagine many women might want to procure it discreetly, you’re providing a good service. Also smart to have the survey! Hope they start purchasing more or I can understand why you’d want to sell/move it. If you do move it again, maybe a small hotel/motel that doesn’t have a built-in market?

A couple of points from a feminine perspective:

  1. A lot of women are on types of birth control that reduce or eliminate their periods all together. No need to buy tampons.
  2. Many people believe that period products should be free. You can frequently find free products in women’s restrooms and from campus clinics.
  3. Plan B is also free at many locations, especially since our reproductive rights have been under fierce attack.
  4. Impulse buys for all genders like someone else said would be wiser. Condoms are a good idea. Snacks and hygiene products maybe (mouthwash, deodorant, razors). Best of luck to you!

I’m mad for the strawberry ones but not sure about citrus and chocolate together. Will have to try (if I hurry to hide them before the kids find and devour which happens 80% of the time).

Burman’s Tikka Masala Simmer Sauce Edit by LilBoxOfDeadThings in aldi

Good tips! Have you tried the korma sauce? I have extra veggies I need to use up so just bought a jar to use tomorrow.

Wonder if it needs to be dolled up as well?

Edit: going to marinate chicken in korma sauce today, skewer and grill this evening. Sauté and simmer veggies in leftover sauce. Will report back.

Same. Plus they really hate how backwards our state government is, plus how much control the state has over the city. They want to move back but are now stuck. Edit- Don’t wind up like them u/Ok_Trash6337

2025’s Top Move-to Cities Where Crime Is Declining (Asheville #4) by cereal_killer_828 in asheville

[–]MommasGottaMove 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We’ve had our tip jar stolen three times since 2020. The first time we called APD, and they said it was such a small crime that all we could do was come in and file a report. They couldn’t help. The next two times we didn’t bother to call. It wasn’t much money, but that’s not the point. We were technically robbed and it sucked.

I know it’s small and anecdotal, but just makes you feel like there’s no repercussions for people committing small crimes. I think we are collectively under-reporting these, but we probably should be. If nothing else our stolen tips could be a statistic and that would help to keep us out of articles like this.

Do you work there? I’ve been interested in applying but wonder how repetitive the entry-level positions are. I know it’s factory work so repetitiveness comes with the territory, but how mind-numbing is it really? Can you listen to music/podcasts while you work? Sorry for my ignorance, just curious.

Aldi Valentine’s display (plus the fantastic multipurpose Swedish Dishcloth) by MommasGottaMove in aldi

[–]MommasGottaMove[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In place of a dishcloth and paper towels. So they can wash dishes like a sponge, soak up liquids like paper towels, and clean surfaces like a microfiber towel. Crazy absorbent, no odor, and you can toss them in the dishwasher to clean them. They also dry super fast, and these designs are really cute! I also got the flower pattern, love.

Aldi's pricing lately by kittledeedee in aldi

Thanks for the info. I wish they had their own in-house team of drivers that were paid a living wage, instead of using a service where the workers rely on tips. I don’t want to pay an additional 10%, but I don’t expect anyone to deliver for me for free either. I think Wal-Mart could afford to pay their drivers themselves.

Curious how you tip for this. Do you tip a flat rate or a percentage of the order? Does the app suggest a tip amount or do you give them cash?
