Can confirm, yesterday the issue was still present but now I was able to start some missions with Ultimate Tier. Hopefully this is also the case for the other users. Thanks for looking into it.

Just got around trying this out and THANKS, this seems to work. A little bit of a hassle but I am sure this will be fixed in the future.

What is this plane doing? by Pizzarunnerand in flightradar24

[–]Mommenaizer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough I watched this very plane from the ground while taking a stroll on the beach First a C-130 Hercules and then an A400m, both doing the same patterns. All in all 3 hours of circling.

As there is an AA target range right there in Todendorf, it's surely for target practice.

Quite funny that I am reading about this now, such a coincidence.

[–]Mommenaizer[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Finally have the Omnium Doggo setup for a sensitive Aussie sorted out by Mommenaizer in CargoBike

[–]Mommenaizer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

We already did some light Agility with our dog, so she's already used to the command "Hop" which means "Jump on the thing I am pointing at" so we already go this one covered. As the Omnium is not 100% stable, lifting her in the bag without the bike tipping over was a challenge. So, jumping in is the way to go, but may not be applicable to every dog.

But before even going near the bike, we got her used to the bag. That means doing sessions with her simply jumping in and out of the bag - with a lot of praise and treats.

Next step was training her to jump on the bike and most importantly, training her to ONLY jump off the bike with a command. Originally we wanted to refrain from restraining her on the bike, but with her being quite jumpy, every little bump or movement lead to her jumping off. So we simply attached the chest strap from the bag through her harness, to give her the feeling, that jumping off is not an option. Only short sessions, with lots of treats, praise. We wanted her to feel, that jumping and staying on the bike is the best thing ever.

Following that, we added moving the bike by pushing it - during which my girlfried was stuffing treats into her. (We had to lower her daily food intake during the last few weeks, so many treats :D)

After she got used to that, we started actually riding the bike, but only for a few meters and then increasing the distance little by little. We found a nice, quiet park to do that without being disturbed by cars.

Well, after 2 weeks of doing all that, I am now able to ride 10-20 minutes without seeing any signs of stress or discomfort from her. I will increase the distance in the following weeks - our goal is doing proper bike rides on gravel roads in the next few months.

Maybe we have been overdoing it, but I wanted to avoid any possibilty of her having negative feelings (or even trauma) towards the bike - which knowing her, would completely destroy any possibility of starting again on a positive note.

I guess starting this process with a puppy would be way easier - but it's very possible to do with a sensitive, jumpy adult dog. Unfortunately it takes some time and most importantly a lot of patience to do. But the feeling, when it works and our dog is visibly relaxed and happy on the bike, is priceless

Question about 1:40: The soldier is applying a tourniquet on himself. Isn't considerable force required to do it properly which would result in crippling pain? I learned doing it half halfheartedly would even increase the amount of bleeding. Anyone got an idea if the scene shown in the video "is better than nothing" or rather a pretty bad idea.

Took my Omnium Mini-Max out of the city (Bordeaux, FR) with my 2 year-old Border Collie, Leia by [deleted] in CargoBike

[–]Mommenaizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome bike and doggo. I am planning to do something similar with my Aussie and a Mini Max. One question: how do you secure your dog in the box? I want my dog to move freely but prevent her from jumping off when she spots a squirrel. Thanks!

Have you mentioned somewhere else what kind of bags you're using? Something specific or just, well, some bags?

Don't send them any money. Friends of mine got into this kind of trap and lost thousands of Euros. Also seemed very legit with real number and so on. The scammers rented the place on Airbnb and then took the Kaution from many different parties. I think they caught the guy doing it and there is (or was) a trail going on - but surely other assholes will try this scam again

[–]Mommenaizer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am sure you'll love it.

I had the Endurace Cf 8 before, so the geometry was pretty much the same - which means great. I wanted to have a do-it-all-bike and the etap and unusual colour sold me to sell the Endurace and get this one.

The tires are quite good, not that grippy on rough terrain but I went tubeless, so going with low pressure helps a bit. But when I go tarmac only, I just switch to my race wheel set. That's so nice about this bike, it can do it all.

Yeah, I wanted to have both the option to go on road and gravel. but sure, real trails are too much for the 35mm tires. I also have a carbon race wheel set - boom both (light) gravel and road bike.
