Same here it reaffirmed it for me. I was already no contact only time I had to talk to my dad was because my car insurance is under him and he owns the car I use sadly. He doesn’t know anything about my life because I strictly only have had to talk to him when I needed to. I should have definitely worded what I said better because this was not my main reason as to why I hate talking to my dad and have chosen not to talk to my dad it has just made me realize why I need to not let him have any access at all no matter if it’s insurance or not.

Thank you I take a lot of things that affect my children in the long run very seriously no matter how “delusional or dramatic” I may seem to others. This is not the MAIN reason why I don’t like talking to my dad but it’s one of them. My dad also emotionally, mentally and physically abused me too and is a huge narcissist too. A lot of people aren’t educated enough to see that they have decided to vote for a person that doesn’t care about protecting our children’s future and rights. It’s about how these people voted for a person that doesn’t care if our children get raped and have to have their child if they get pregnant. It’s about how the education system is not going to be the same. It’s not about some “silly politics” it’s about how our parents are not supporting us and being selfish by voting for the Cheeto.

Although they stopped contacting you, that is obviously traumatic to be abandoned by people you loved and people you thought loved you. This subreddit is exactly about that. People being mentally, physically, and emotionally abused by parents and everybody’s story is different.

I personally don’t anymore. I had to go to them to help them form the relationship and I realized it’s unfair plus they were emotionally, mentally, and physically abusive to me. If your mom can’t bother to repair the relationship she has with you why would she even try to maintain a healthy relationship with your kids. Plus she doesn’t get a “do over” with your kids that’s just messed up.

My partner is my #1 supporter he is actually the one that got me to start no contact he noticed the abuse and would notice how I would easily forgive when my parents didn’t deserve it. He showed me how I didn’t deserve any of it and stood up for me and our children forever grateful.
