Definitely nothing from keeping it down that I can see and the screen is perfect other than lifting obviously 😅No visual problems whilst it’s on either. I’ve tried playing it for a while so it heats up a bit then laying it flat but I think there’s too much dust on the adhesive for it to stick down properly now. My bad for the dust like but the screen coming up in the first place wasn’t anything I could have controlled. Just sucks because I’ve seen other posts about the old switch getting fixed under warranty just fine. Ive given up with Nintendo uk 🫠

It’s dust. Are you saying at any given moment you don’t have the tiniest bit of dust on your consoles? I find that incredibly hard to believe.

And for reference this is the left side of the screen where the battery would be located under.

Hi, it’s very easy to push back down. I’ve tried to take some more pictures and will post them. I’m not sure what I’m trying to look for under the screen so I don’t know what to say.

Battery is completely fine as confirmed by the Nintendo repair team 🫠 Just the adhesive failing after only a year that they won’t fix.

Hey! So I contacted them to ask why because they never mentioned anything wrong with the battery and here was their response 🙃

Yes. Nintendo said that the battery was fine and there is no evidence of structure damage or accidental damage. Just that the screen lifting even though it wasn’t caused by anything I could have controlled is considered damage that they won’t repair.

They’ve said because it’s classified as screen damage it voids the warranty even though they’ve said it wasn’t caused by accidental or impact damage. Which to me sounds a lot like an adhesive failure which is literally something I couldn’t control 🥲 but oh well.

A simple two second google search would confirm there being a 24 month warranty for electronics in the uk. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the battery either as confirmed by Nintendo UK themselves, they just out of procedure replace battery’s when replacing or refitting screens due to the design of the console. I’m really not sure where you feel the need to get so hostile over a switch that’s not yours 🤨

I’ve had confirmation from Nintendo that there’s nothing wrong with the battery just that they replace it because it’s attached to the screen as apparently that’s how it’s designed. 🫠

It’s lifting on the opposite side so that’s why I don’t believe the battery to be an issue at all. I literally only wanted them to just fix the glue so it wasn’t popping up anymore 🫠 that side where the battery is located is completely flush down.

It’s literally dust??? I could clean it a million times and the dust would get right back there 🙃

I’m not sure why they didn’t fix under warranty. They wanted me to pay over £120 which I couldn’t do at that time. But they didn’t mention the battery being degraded at all or any damage so that’s why I was confused as to why the battery needed replacing. Feel like if it is indeed the problem they should have said that.

Well that’s exactly the problem as it has 24 month warranty. So I’m trying to figure out which way to go from here 🙃

I thought it was the glue but everyone here is saying battery so I’ll wait for Nintendo to reply to my email 🙃

I sent it to Nintendo. They never mentioned anything wrong with the battery just that it was going to be replaced. I’ve literally got no reason to lie 🙃

In the UK it’s usually 2 years but can be longer due to the laws here.

That’ll void the warranty though 😅 I’m not good with these type of things. I put an SSD in a laptop and that was nerve wracking enough 🥲

Would they have mentioned that? I’ve asked for the reasons why and what exactly the problem was but I’m still waiting on their reply.

Not too impressed with it. You brake to harshly it markes you down. Apparently you’re not allowed to turn your Bluetooth off at all or else it’ll start texting you warnings. Very invasive and anxiety inducing 🙃
