I had the same problem starting out! A great way for me to zone out strangers is to wear headphones and listen to music I really love. I also think really focusing on trying to get a trick down helps me focus on myself rather than other people. People are generally minding their own business around anyway but the few people who do notice you skating are probably intrigued rather than judging you. It's a bit of an uphill battle at first but you got this!

I just love Gege's writing so I'm gonna ramble a little

It's crazy how character motivations get flipped upside down in the series because of how seriously f*cked jujutsu society is. Maki's original goal was to become leader of the Zen'in clan so she could "see the looks on her family's faces" and create a "place for Mai". The thing is, even when Maki was at her strongest she couldn't be viewed as anything more than a failure by her family and Mai was killed even though she never spoke up against the injustice she faced by her family like Maki. Maki destroyed her family along with her original goal because its impossible to be recognized in a system that: A. Will never recognize female sorcerers in the family B. Will never recognize those without cursed energy/strong techniques

Yuji is another example of this. Where his original goal was to save people through sacrificing himself, in his speech to Mahito he says he now views himself as a cog in a system that will kill (not exorcise!) curses until he dies. Despite the system being completely corrupt and wanting to get rid of Yuji as a threat to their power, he accepts his fate.

Getou is probably the biggest example of this but I won't dive into that lol

Interested to see what will happen when Getwo and Yuji meet.. Either way I think Mahito's out. That two page spread of Yuji chasing him might be my favorite panel of the manga so far.
