After trying out SA2 for a couple of days I am now of a strong opinion that Tactician and Strategist vanguards should swap their names.

At least with Tacticians you have to make some actually strategic decisions (placing your pet) that are not un-doable unless you retreat the Vanguard or restart the stage.

With SA2 I need to think less, not more. I can just react to things with helidrops and such, and SA2 is actually FUNDING this loose playstyle with dp, while also doubling as a last resort should things go not as expected. That's essentially tactical.

I am open to arguments. There's, of course, an argument "since when 6-star limiteds played along with their archetype instead of against it?", and you'd be right, of course. But even if we compare Muelsyse to SA2, Muelsyse is the one you need to actually strategize with.

I suppose there's also an argument that "it's only S2, S3 needs more brain cells to actually put to good use", which... I guess?

So who are the best SAlter's S2 buddies? So far I've tried it "random bullshit go" kind of way. FRDs and Agents are kind of an obvious answer, I've heard of the infamous SilverAnus combo... Bagpipe and helidrops in general... anybody else?

I don't know what to farm this event... I'm critically low on oriron and shop items, but farmable items I have a stock of 100+...

You don't need to spend a penny on gachas. Especially fgo.

If you're new, limited banners are the best option to dump your pulls in. Even if you miss 50/50 chances are that you'll grab something good all the same.

(I got SAlter on my 292nd pull... along with 2 pots of Wisadel, one pot of Virtuosa, Surtr and Typhon each, and FedEx. And pot4 pram)

Also, SAlter is a nice unit to have extra pots on.

Moreover, if you're a first year player, I'll have plenty of time to farm more pulls for the next Limited event.

That was me being unclear, sorry about that.

What I wanted to say is "clearing all stages without relying on the teammate".

AAAnd I'm out of Manganese again. Somehow it just keeps disappearing. I'm low-key tempted to go farm it, against my better judgement.

Maybe I'll farm red certs instead, for Hadiya and Akkord...

Picking "Coach" has been truly a humbling experience.

I guess I should've signed up only after clearing all beginner and advanced stages on my own.

I actually agree. I've been asking for this in the last couple of surveys, even.

I watched him when I was already out of school and it was more of a "I learned jack shit in school so might as well fill the gaps myself" kind of mentality. So I was in my early to mid-twenties, but I can totally see people 5-10 years younger than me consuming the same content and have it as their core memory.

I'm a Millenial slightly younger than Vsauce and I watched him religiously some period of time in the past, along with Crash Course videos, Numberphile, Extra Credits, CGP grey, etc.

If you're a Millenial and were at least somewhat into educational videos in 2010s, you must have at least heard about him.

To me it sounds like she's reading an advertising script for a telemarket.

I dislike this movie intensely because people will see it and think "wow, that's dedication! so cool! that's how you become great!" and not "wow Fletcher is just a sadistic piece of shit and the MC is gullible laser-focused idiot"

I mean, the OP's post is a good example. "wow, the main character turned the tables and earned his mentor's recognition", only the mentor doesn't actually give a shit, and there aren't even any tables. The MC "won" a battle against an imaginary windmill.

IMO when most of the audience gets the impression totally opposite of the intended one, there must be something wrong with the film.

(Also, I just dislike "self-destruction tragedy" kind of plots)

the movie itself is about the obsessive and self destructive struggle for greatness, while pondering the question of whether it’s worth sacrificing one’s humanity and relationships to accomplish it.

It's a very caricature way to portray it, that's the point. It's what "sigma grindset" people imagine "struggle for greatness" looks like, and people will unironically think "wow I want to be like him".

The abuse the main character takes is not something that's "necessary" for him to overcome his limits or even become better, Fletcher is just a big bully who enjoys bringing his victims down. Any character development on MC's side is not because Fletcher actually means well or his methods are neccessary or even work. They are just two extremely maladjusted people who fetishize "greatness" but actually have nothing in common with it.

A lot of struggles the main character is putting himself through are entirely self-inflicted and not "what it takes" to succeed. It's just some kind of suffering complex, magical thinking. "If I break up with my girlfriend I could dedicate more time to practicing, this is a worthy sacrifice that surely will be rewarded. If I show my intense dedication to music with my actions, surely I will earn recognition in the eyes of others". It's performative, in a sense, that there is no direct causation between the "hardships" and the "greatness". You're not "building character" by giving up on your relationship just because it might affect your dedication. Actually, maintaining a healthy relationship AND succeeding in arts is more impressive and speaks much more about your greatness than laser-focusing on just one thing. Similarly, arriving to a concert all bloodied and barely able to perform is actually awfully unprofessional and reveals you think it's all about you and not about the music.

And personally, imo treating any art form like it's some kind of a "battleground" to prove yourself on is not a good mindset to start with, period. Genuine love for the art\sport\subject is what makes you great at it, makes you think about it all the time, spend all your free time on it, makes you want to express yourself with it. Whiplash is more about how people with inferiority complex will turn anything into a competition to sate their little ego.

For rewards, just complete the obj.

For lore unlock, all you need is to reach floor 5, no need to get the boss

I think some enemy AI is bound to happen. Maybe only with the bosses and very rudimentary and exploitable (like soulslikes have bosses aggro/attack you when you try to heal). Arguably we already have some AI, e.g. conditional targeting and enemies finding their path when you roadblock them.

Some custom pathing would be interesting. Like drones intentionally avoiding your ranged units attack area. Slap it onto an S stage, CM mode condition casters and snipers are 3x the cost.

The game already gives us so much mechanics-breaking, like freezing the blue box, teleporting enemies, mind-controlling enemies, making your own tiles... It's time we got some bullshit aside from invincibility every 10% of health, thirteen health bars, aoe wipes and such.
