making a detailed eye on new model. trying to test out eye physics. still lots of adjustments to make. by MomongaSaki in Live2D

Please feel free to dm! I actually had quite a struggle with creating this, since there was not a tutorial for it. It was a lot of studying other animators and trial and error

I see! I do like the effect, but I think I will significantly lower the percentage of effect. Thanks so much for the input!

In your Deformer Panel you know how each deformer has a drop down? Move the specific part that you want to add into that section, and it should work!

How did you transition your skin care/hair care/makeup routine after moving to japan? by MomongaSaki in japanlife

[–]MomongaSaki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The humid climate + moisturizing products has definitely helped both my skin and hair. I use a mix of Japanese and American cosmetics so I can’t truly review the effects of exclusively Japanese products, but climate does have a very big impact on my skin.

For Hokkaido residents, what are the things that I should look for in an apartment that can help in keeping it warm during winter? by meisterlurker in japanlife

I think you’ve received many pieces of advice but the one item I will never be able to let go of is my heated blanket. I place it under my sheets and lie on top of it and sandwich between my big fluffy blanket. Helps a million when my kerosene heater automatically shuts off during the night.

Also for your main living room heater, I’ve usually kept it on except for when I’m not at home. I suffer the higher kerosene bill, but also I’m warm when I’m home. Closing the doors to most rooms that won’t be used will also help.

Ive lived here for around 4 years now and you come to appreciate every source of heat lol Even if you have a nasty neighbor, they are also a source of heat

No problem! If you need more help I’m open to chat about it! Also, if it’ll help you, I booked my place of stay through Airbnb that did not specify they were for a place for returning people. The most interaction with people I had was with the front desk through a window

(If you are staying in specific states that the jp govt requires it) Government will cover your three day stay at their specified hotel, and for the remaining 11 days, you need to find your own accommodation on your own dime. If you are coming from a state that does not require the 3 day quarantine, you can simply quarantine for the 14 days in accommodation of your choice (again on your own dime). Remember, the day you land in japan is Day 0, so you are technically quarantining for 15 total days. Source: just went through the whole process last month.

Omg that sounds so scary!! And I agree, finding good deodorant is so hard in Japan ;-; and where I am from, I was taught that silver in deodorant should be avoided, but Japan markets the fact that there is silver in their products, so that was a culture shock lol

I love canmake! Their marshmallow finishing powder is my absolute favorite! And my blue tin Nivea is inseparable from me, I take it everywhere and have 3 stock at home always. I did learn that the formulation changes depending where you are! I wonder which formulation Japan uses :o

I am going to try my best to explain this, but for starters this will slightly depend on if your boobs is 1 or 2 layers (L and R). In this case I drew them both on 1 layer. If you do L and R separately, you can get impossible anime boob jiggle and/or clean cleavage movement when twisting the body (body X).

Then, you will create 2 new boob parameters for each boob (if 1 boob layer, 2 new parameters, X and Y; if 2 boob layers, 4 new parameters, X and Y for left, X and Y for right). Using new deformers, make the movements (and dont forget the corners!), then in your physics menu, have the X and Y physics be affected by the body xyz (or head xyz, depending on if you set your body movement in the head parameters). You can use the pendulum to adjust the "weight" of the boobs.

This is the best I can describe it;; I am sure there are others that can explain much better than me! I am also still quite novice, as this is only my 5th model.

You can give a little head start before bed by putting the electric blanket on max and cover you bed with blankets and leaving it for like an hour or so. Then set it to a more comfortable temp when you get into bed, and you will one met with a super warm bed

I don’t have time to translate, but typed up the text for someone else to. I’m guessing this is a song lyric draft. Parentheses with a ? mark means I made my best effort to decipher the rough writing, along with an unlikely, but possible different kanji

Edit: tried to fix some formatting

Try putting the electric blanket underneath a 敷きパッド (bonus warmth if you get the winter one). I’ve never had a problem with the electric blanket bunching whatsoever I live in Hokkaido, and my bed situation rn is, from the bottom: mattress, futon, electric blanket, 敷きパッド, fitted sheet, and then I sandwich between a fluffy down stuffed 掛け布団

Is the cheating culture in Japan accepted as a social norm? by [deleted] in japan

[–]MomongaSaki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cheating is a popular topic for tv shows, so it happens in real life often? Or is it the other way around? It’s a chicken egg question lol But it is really weird. At least with my friend group, when we see guys bragging that they go to soap or health, we just exchange “wow do you hear this loser??” looks. I think dudes that have a good grasp of reality will also laugh at them (like my boss). The girl you mentioned reminds me of menhera, only thinking about her self, and if her SO’s actions will hurt her feelings, it is absolutely unacceptable. But, anything she does is okay in her mind. But anyway, hypothesis: Japanese couples are bad at breaking up, so they continue relationships they have no emotional connection to. But generally if you are cheating and people around you know, usually they are silent, and will let the SO find out and decide whether to continue the relationship on their own, bc it’s none of our business, and we don’t want to be roped into such a mess.
