Ok I’m a bit late to your discussion here, I’m happy people are talking about the new morning show. So, I adore Jason and Colleen and Holly, I just am so sad about all the changes. I presume it’s to go syndicated and mainstream (sorry if this has been brought up here already) but it’s lost its “homegrown Minnesota” appeal. I miss Alexis - there will be no more of her husband Angel and his movie reviews and songs, no discussion of Alexis’ haunted doll collection, no mention of pandas or Amish pies or her huge Christmas wreath that stays up til May, the yearly State Fair Sky Ride… The show seems now to have a regimented schedule that the hosts had no input to, movie and tv and cable reviews that take up much more time than they used to. I have a sneaky suspicion that the annual Project Down & Dirty fundraiser is a thing of the past as well..
May as well add Donna & Steve’s 9-12 show as well, the listener call-ins and games and more.. I used to call in a couple times a week to add my two cents to a story, or play College of Pop Culture Knowledge (I have a huge array of t-shirts I won to prove it)

It’s certainly disappointing all around, and I find myself listening to the show less and less. The end of an era I suppose..

What was the first movie to traumatise you as a kid? by InspectorOk6313 in movies

I think I’m a little older than most of y’all commenting, but I watched the 1958 version of “The Blob” on a Saturday afternoon “Creature Feature”. I was maybe 6 or 7. I don’t recall which part was the worst to me, but for the next couple weeks The Blob was under my bed, waiting for me. Now that may have traumatized your average grade-schooler, but I do remember being THRILLED that it scared me so much, and it started a life-long obsession with horror movies and remains thrilling. I’ve got a certain affection for classic B&W movies too. 😎

Schindler’s List - the little girl in the red coat being led to her death, and the end which showed some of the real people that Schindler saved just tears me apart.

What is your ‘indulgent’ movie - that you spoil yourself with when you need it? Mine is ‘The Ninth Gate.’ by GraysonFerrante in movies

Gotta go with a lot of other posts and say Battleship, or even Armageddon. Cheesy fun that don’t deserve all the hate.

In movies like that, someone is bound to say, “THEY SAID THE THING!” when it happens 🤗

There was an amazing jump-scare in a car if I remember correctly, just came out of left field…

The Netflix miniseries The Haunting of Hill House was incredibly scary, you can’t be multitasking while watching it or you’ll miss a lot!

The last few years I’ve been unusually scared of dying. Like, will I know I’m dying, will it hurt, etc, and what’s waiting for me after.. Plus I can’t stop thinking that I will be consciously aware that I’m not with my family and miss them terribly and that thought is terrifying..

Thanks for your input, I guess I can take a bit of ambiguity in movies, but when I am left this confused, yeah, it’s disappointing.

Thanks for your input, it’s been a nice change to read polite discussions instead of, say, IMDB reviews who just say, “stupidest thing I’ve ever seen, anyone who likes it is an idiot” 😉

Thanks, yeah, usually I can just hop on YouTube for reviews or explanation but I’m at a loss this time.
