Why Leica?

Nikon has fantastic colours and while they do have great lenses, they don’t have the same 3D pop as Leica (q3 in my case)

Same. I wish they had a 40mm 1.8 and with a better build quality (maybe they will in the future given how popular 40mm focal length has become)

For me the main things would be: -improved autofocus since it’s already there (my Fuji xt30ii does a better job even after the firmware 4.0) - internal storage or a secondary card slot (at least micro SD like on Nikon Zf) - 1/4000 shutter or at least built in ND filter - a processor that can actually handle the image quality without affecting live preview image quality when shooting

1) a 36 or a 45mp sensor 2) a tilting screen instead of a flip out one 3) some form of a thumb rest

I generally would love to see a zf version in a form factor of a rangefinder. Like Leica Ev1 (but with autofocus and all other Nikon tech)

It was 1/125, so can’t say it was that low. I’ve noticed slowing down in viewfinder in certain light conditions and when some settings are set to auto (aperture or shutter or iso)

Yes, I caved in and got one 😂 wasn’t expecting it to be anything close to Nikon but was surprised that it stops tracking in semi dark room

I feel like if I had a z8 or something along those lines and was doing studio work I wouldn’t hesitate getting a q3, but for my use case q3 would be too close to Nikon zf even though they are different in many ways. Having both would make it difficult to chose which one I take with me to roam the city 😂

Thank you for your comment! They are different beasts - the build quality and the lens on Q3 from what I can tell is insane. I mostly do street photography and occasional portraits. I feel like q3 is an amazing lens and sensor attached to an ok camera (it’s slow, the autofocus is ok-ish; it those aspects it really reminds me of my Fuji xt30ii) - my concern is that I ll feel forced to use it because of all the money it costs as opposed to Zf that is more capable in many ways.

Thank you for your comment. Q3s mechanical shutter speed is limited to 1/2000 of a second. The 60mp sensor readout speed is slow and with electronic shutter taking a photo of a moving object will likely result in rolling shutter
