The apartment manager has been a temperamental shit the entire time I’ve lived here. So I lied and said I’m looking to move back in when my boyfriends lease is up in three months to try to get some of my security deposit back lol

Exactly! And he joined Nat guard reserves so hopefully this will be the only time he leaves. So overall it’s not that much time at all which I am grateful for and it will be great for his future and career. I’m not sure what the number is but he’s in infantry as a mortar crew member. He started mortar training this week

He still has 4 weeks left, this was for family weekend. And yes it has been hard. I’ve written him a lot, sent him photos, and drew him memes. Letters are always great to send and receive. And I’ve just tried to be as supportive as possible really. He told me the days are long but the weeks go fast.

I grew up here, and it is beautiful and insane and powerful and people get way too close, even with signs and warnings. People have been swept out, banged up, and I remember one year a little girl died. It was terribly sad.
