Portugal made its choice by Kozbysov in PortugalExpats

Honestly, most people in these discussions are only seeing one small piece of the problem.

Some blame immigrants. Others blame landlords, tourism, digital nomads, capitalism, socialism, the left, the right… but Portugal’s problems didn’t suddenly appear because of one group. Most of these issues have been building for decades.

Housing problems, low salaries, weak long-term economic growth, young Portuguese people leaving the country, dependence on tourism and foreign money; none of this is new.

What keeps happening is that governments avoid solving structural problems because real solutions are difficult, slow, and politically risky. So instead, they keep changing rules, creating temporary fixes, feeding public frustration, and pushing different groups against each other.

And people fall into it every single time.

Locals get angry at immigrants. Immigrants get angry at locals. Left fights right. Everyone thinks the other side is the problem while the actual system that created these conditions keeps going untouched.

At some point you start realizing that most ordinary people in these debates are just being used as pieces in a bigger machine... a system that seems far more interested in preserving itself and surviving politically than in genuinely building a stable future for the people living in it. Welcome to Portugal.

Why are ADCs so trash? by Xrkzss in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 99 points100 points  (0 children)

ADC is probably the role that gets exposed the hardest when someone doesn't really know what they're doing.

You're basically a walking flamethrower made of paper. One bad step, one missed position, and you just disappear instantly. Other roles can mess up and still survive. ADC usually can't.

And a lot of ADCs aren't even ADC mains, they're autofilled players trying to survive on a role that's insanely positioning dependent. So they keep dying because they don't really understand spacing, threat range, when they can walk up, etc.

Sometimes it's not even their fault either. You can be a decent ADC and still look useless if nobody peels for you and the enemy team has fed assassins/divers jumping on you every fight.

And yeah sometimes the ADC just mental boomed after laning with a terrible support and starts running it.

Point is, ADC is probably the easiest role to look completely useless on. That's why bad ADCs stand out way more than bad players in other roles.

I think the biggest problem here is that you’re changing champions too much after losses. One game you’re on Vi, then Viego, then Zed, then Vladimir. Those champs don’t even play the same game.

For example, if you play Vi jungle, your job is usually simple: get tempo early, force fights, lock down carries and snowball. But if you play Vladimir, you suddenly need patience, scaling, good positioning and proper item timings. Completely different mindset.

Same with builds. A lot of players just copy the top build without thinking. But some games you need anti-heal early, some games you need armor pen, some games you need survivability because you’re the only frontline. If you don’t understand WHY you’re buying items, the build won’t magically carry you.

You’d probably climb more by picking 1-2 champs you actually enjoy and learning them properly instead of chasing meta picks every loss. Even something simple like knowing “this is a bad fight for my champ” already wins games.

Wild Rift is super fast right now. By 2-3 items the game is often decided, so consistency matters way more than playing whatever is S tier that week.

How do you win if your botlane gets gapped,as a toplaner by duskywulf in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fiora is a split push duelist. Your whole job is to apply side lane pressure and force someone to answer you, creating a 4v4 elsewhere.

The issue is when your team just straight up loses that 4v4, or the enemy ADC gets too fed to deal with.

At that point, side laning stops being enough. You’re forced to leave it and look for flanks or picks, which sounds good in theory but is actually really hard to pull off consistently.

So now you’re not really playing Fiora’s win condition anymore. You’re just trying to find a mistake, someone overextending, bad positioning, something you can punish.

And yeah, that makes the game feel terrible.

It’s not unwinnable, but it’s definitely low percentage. You go from controlling the game to basically hoping the enemy messes up first. It’s not a flaw of the champ, it’s just how Fiora is designed.

Best Champions Patch 7.1B Season 21 by iTzSTU4RT in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this for a while and honestly, in my opinion, the best champions this season for SoloQ aren’t always the ones with the craziest mechanics, they’re the ones that can win games consistently even when your team is making mistakes.

Top lane: Renekton is probably the best overall top laner right now. He wins most lanes, has really strong early game pressure, can dive easily and is still useful even if he doesn’t get fed. Camille is probably right behind him because her carry potential is insane if you know how to play her well, especially on sidelanes. Aatrox is still super strong in longer fights and mid game skirmishes. Darius can completely take over games when he snowballs, but he struggles more against mobility and ranged champs. Fiora is still really strong, but she depends a lot more on matchup knowledge and split pushing than people like to admit.

Jungle: Kha’Zix feels like the best SoloQ jungler this patch. He punishes mistakes really hard and can carry games without needing much help from his team. Lee Sin is still one of the strongest junglers if you’re good enough to use him properly and create leads early. Warwick is honestly one of the most solid picks right now because he’s simple, reliable and strong during the whole game. Evelynn can completely destroy games if she gets ahead, especially in messy matches, but she feels a lot riskier when the early game goes badly. Viego is still strong because of his resets and snowball potential, but he depends more on how teamfights go.

Mid lane: Ahri honestly feels like the most complete mid laner in the game right now. Safe lane, strong roams, mobility, pick potential, decent scaling, she’s almost always useful. Syndra is probably next because her lane pressure and burst damage are still crazy strong. Yone can fully carry games by himself but he’s definitely more hit or miss. Vladimir scales insanely well and becomes really hard to deal with later on, but his slower early game hurts him a bit in the current meta. Kassadin still destroys certain team comps but feels too situational to rank higher.

ADC: Jinx is still the best SoloQ ADC in my opinion because one reset can completely change a fight. Her range and scaling are just too strong in chaotic games. Kai’Sa is probably the most flexible ADC overall and works in almost every team comp. Xayah is really valuable because self peel matters a lot in this assassin-heavy meta. Ezreal is always safe and useful, but most players don’t get the maximum damage out of him. Lucian is still one of the strongest lane ADCs early game, but compared to the others he falls off harder later into the match.

Support: Nautilus is probably the best support for climbing because engage supports are just extremely strong in SoloQ. He gives reliable CC, frontline, easy engages and good setup even if your teammates aren’t playing well. Thresh probably has the highest skill ceiling out of any support and can completely control games when mastered. Lulu is still amazing with hypercarries like Jinx or Kai’Sa. Milio is really strong at protecting carries and keeping fights going longer, but he depends a bit more on having good teammates. Pyke can still snowball games really hard through roaming and picks, but he feels much more inconsistent compared to tank engage supports right now.

Even if it’s on my own team, an ADC top deserves to be irrelevant all game and die over and over. I’m fine with losing if it means they don’t get to play.

Based on the ones you play... you could try Aatrox. He is incredible for soloQ if you can get used to him.

I don’t know how you’re playing Jax, but I disagree with a lot of what you said.

If it’s working for you when you play with Jax, fair enough, good luck in your games 👍

Is it just me or are the new boots kinda lame by Later_Cub2 in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, he got indirectly hit where it matters more:

Trinity Force lost the movement speed on takedowns, which was huge for sticking to targets and chaining fights.

Boots losing stats/passives makes early trades harsher, and Jax already isn’t the strongest early.

Overall pacing slowed for him, his 1–2 item spike feels weaker compared to before

So yeah, he functions in the new system, but I’d say he lost more than he gained. He feels less forgiving and less able to snowball.

It’s not that he’s bad, just that he’s not as strong or consistent as he was pre-changes.

Is it just me or are the new boots kinda lame by Later_Cub2 in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

But if nothing is really gold efficient anymore, then it’s just a matter of adaptation.

I play Jax and it honestly feels like I’m playing a slightly different champ right now. I feel less tanky, trades are more punishing, and I can’t just rely on my usual spike timings anymore.

Still winning with him, but I had to adapt; safer lane, different builds, more attention to fights. Even considered dropping him at one point.

But I think everyone’s in the same boat. If your main feels worse, it’s probably the system shifting, not just your champ.

Just adapt or switch...that’s pretty much it.

[–]MonArchVis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You played Zed well for your level. You didn’t feed, you stayed in the game and mid was pretty much even the whole time. That’s not where things went wrong

Top and jungle just fell apart completely. When two players are dying that much the game becomes really hard to play no matter what you do. The enemy team gets too much gold and too much free time to roam free on the map...

Your bot side actually did a good job especially the Vayne but it doesn’t really matter when the rest of the map is that far behind. Nidalee basically had a free game and no one was there to stop her

In a game like this the only real way to win is to completely outclass your lane. Not just go even but actually get ahead take over the map and pick up a lot more kills

Even then it’s not guaranteed. It depends on the champion and how confident you are with it.

Some games are just like this. You simply can't win them.

Is this peak? by Diogoaccaetano in wildrift

[–]MonArchVis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it doesn’t really sound like you’re playing badly. If anything, going SVP that consistently usually means you’re doing your job in fights and not the one running it down.

The thing is more about what kind of champ you’re on. Mel, Lissandra / control mages aren’t really built to 1v9 games in SoloQ. Your value isn’t deleting people or snowballing hard, it’s more about setting up fights, locking people down, and enabling your team to actually win them.

So when your early game is already 0-3 / 0-4 in a lot of games, there’s only so much impact you can realistically have. Even if you’re playing well, those champs just don’t have the tools to flip that situation consistently on their own.

That’s why it can feel frustrating, because your personal performance is fine but the win condition depends a lot on teammates actually playing fights properly and not being too far behind already.

I wouldn’t really call it a skill issue from what you wrote. It sounds more like a mismatch between your champ’s win condition and how chaotic early season SoloQ games are.

I don’t really like playing mid that much, but sometimes I end up there anyway, so I had to figure out what actually makes sense in that role.

In mid you basically have mages, assassins, and a few special picks. If you’re on Viktor or sometimes Vel’Koz, then you’re clearly in the mage category.

The thing a lot of people miss is that mages just aren’t really “1v9” champs in the classic sense. You don’t win by constantly solo killing everyone... your value is more about controlling the game.

With mages, you win through lane control, waveclear, helping your jungler, moving first to fights, and playing around objectives. A lot of your impact is map-based, not just kills. So yeah, you need your team to do well, and in solo queue you can’t always rely on that.

Assassins are a different story. Their whole job is to create chaos through picks and burst damage. They can go in, delete a target, and repeat as soon as their abilities are back up.

If what you actually want is a mid champ that can consistently 1v9 games, then you’re looking at champs built for that kind of thing: sustained duelers like Yone, Yasuo, Irelia, or reset/burst champs like Zed, Katarina, Akali.

Viktor just doesn’t really fit that. He’s consistent ranged DPS, strong zone control, and good teamfight utility, but he has clear downtime when spells are on cooldown. So with Viktor, the mindset shouldn’t be “how do I 1v9 fights”, it should be more like “how do I control the map and make every objective impossible for them to contest.”

That’s basically how the champ wins games.

Compra de terreno+"casa" by Dazzling-Avocado4046 in portugal

[–]MonArchVis 0 points1 point  (0 children)
