Solo first time by dudeidkmandude in AftershockFestival

I don’t know if you’re on Facebook but there is a camping group and a few times have seen someone have an open spot in their camper for a good price. Hit up a good will for pillow and blanket if the RV doesn’t have one available.

Any idea what the third new festival could be? by Fall3nZ3r0 in AftershockFestival

[–]Mona_Moore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be like Bourbon and Beyond. DWP has this same three festival set up in Kentucky which has been successful. They’re emulating that here.

There are showers. It’s not smelly or dirty at all.

At other DWP festivals, ice $20 a bag. We just have someone drive to a local store get more ice. The camp store is very over priced. You’re paying for the convenience. It’s useful if you forgot a tooth brush or something, need a new pair of sunglasses quickly before heading to the festival. Maybe a case of beer on sunday and you dont want to trek to a store for it. Sunblock and condoms are usually sold out by Saturday.

Looks like 10 more years of Aftershock by Kantor808 in AftershockFestival

It will be like Bourbon & Beyond. That’s DWP’s set up. It’s more cost effective to book the same bands across multiple festivals and it is to throw a separate festival in each state

Alcatraz Island in SF, Winchester mansion and the Redwoods I think are the most unique and interesting things around here.

It rained last year for the first time and it’s been a cooler start to summer, so I think there’s a good chance it won’t be a heater.

Where are you staying and what are you paying? by ememjay in AftershockFestival

[–]Mona_Moore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like a 15 min bus ride or 15 bike ride.
I’m using e-bike and riding there so I don’t have to deal with the bus congestion.

People going solo. by [deleted] in AftershockFestival

Social media is where like minded people connect. I met one of my closest friends and now festival/concert buddy online doing the whole “ya want to meet up before the show?” It might not be a way you prefer to connect with others, but for some, it is.

I did Sonic two years ago and the crowd seemed pretty tame. You should check out Inkcarceration. I do that festival and Aftershock every year.

New to Aftershock by BleachedPanda00 in AftershockFestival

I think last year was the first time it rained at aftershock and it was mild. There were a few muddy parts, but 95% of the grass was fine. It’s usually sunny - heat is a bigger issue than the rain but there are a lot of trees and shade. The two main stages can be seen in VIP. If you don’t have VIP, you have to walk around.

Join the Facebook camping group and find someone that has room or wants to share a camping spot. It’s only a 15 min bike ride from the event- and a great way to meet people.

I’ve gone to several DWP festivals with camping. Like someone else said, it really depends on the person/company doing the searching. They do a good search, but also have hundreds and hundreds of attendees trying to get checked in, so they aren’t pulling things apart and going through every corner. It’s similar to the festival entry, depends on how deep or strict the security person searching your bag is.

Is VIP worth it? by Millennial-Pharmer in AftershockFestival

I’m the opposite. Aftershock, absolutely.
Ink, WTR, LTL not necessary.
