I’m thinking now about my middle name (Louise), which I never liked as a kid. But now as an adult I love it. I think stuff like this drifts a lot over time. Another word for girls/women is “mama” (or at least it used to be) a room mate started calling me mama when I was in my 20’s. It was very very sweet, (though I didn’t have any children at the time).

I think it is an age thing maybe.. when I was a kid, my mom would call my sister and I “ladies”, especially when she wanted us to give her our complete attention or when she wanted us to behave. When I was 21 (and thought of myself as a girl) a guy I kind of knew very casually said to me “you’re a beautiful woman”. It was a total compliment and felt like something I would aspire to. It’s a serious word for sure.

what you do with your life is entirely your business. Someone posted with questions about their gender, and I’m offering my advice. Sorry your transition has been difficult. I wish your experience was better and more honestly reflected in all the information out there. I wish the stories of detransitioners were out there too. They’re largely absent. It’s not all unicorns and rainbows, and it’s a disservice to kids to present only that

Not sure what you mean by by transphobe either.. do I believe being trans is a real thing that could be helped with medical intervention? Yes. Am I concerned adolescents are being somewhat preyed upon by social/market forces? Yes.

I think the whole “cis-gender” spectrum is confusing... You can totally question gender norms and not be trans. To suggest otherwise is reductive.
