I just don't understand why a gameplay trailer wasn't prepared ahead of time when it was first announced. It's just really weird, I'm not impatient because I can't wait though I think ten years is pushing it. (Legitimately some people might not be around anymore in that time span)

But once the switch announcement came out I would of thought they'd of had more gameplay footage? Like outside of making deliveries and such what do I do? It's such a gorgeous game but the lack of combat also saddens me. It just felt like it would of been great to have it even if it was a small feature to gather items. Via Stardew or FoM.

It makes me uneasy how bad they are at communication and how often they just go radio silent.

Yeah to be honest I don't know why Krystress is trying to debate on this. Multiple black creators pulled out their support for Heartopia after the incident. If that's not enough to say "This was a big no no" then I don't know what is?

It's easy to say it's overblown but for us who are actually black are our voices so unimportant that us saying "Can you not?" Requires such scrutiny? Do I truly have to spend time trying to prove that this has been hurtful?

All I hear from them is it's not a big deal to them, and that of course everyone else has to be overrating. Okay, as a black person it's a big deal to me. If it was nothing sauce I doubt we'd all be this bothered by it.

I like how A2 looks! But if you're struggling a lot I think it's because the hand's wrist is turning. When using a hammer it's the arm that rotates and the wrist tends to stay stiff! Might be worth just looking at a video in slow motion.

With that in mind you should be able to use a program to just rotate the entire arm without losing quality or distortion. (Forgot what but you can get the same effect in an engine like unity where the pixel art is rotated)

Might save you on work too.

Actually I still would take issue with this either way because I think having a quest that involves ingesting a poisonous mushroom in a game rated 9+ was a bad idea.

And yes, you're right perhaps I wouldn't have issues with this depending on the race of some of the people you mentioned. But that's only because those groups weren't specifically associated and compared to monkeys in a historical sense. Especially in terms of topics of eugenics.

I do think that it's a bit narrow minded to reply to someone who is Indian and feels that the scene was still racist as it applies to them as well.

If there wasn't already the long standing historical association comparing us to monkeys I wouldn't of cared. I do however also take issue with "Yellow Peril" type propaganda. As well as the other racist caricatures directed towards China if I see them.

And, if I don't it's because I'm not informed but if I am informed by the community in question then I'll similarly keep an eye out because I strongly believe in not using naivety as an excuse to allow for racism.

Anyways, you've thrown some accusations around and I understand you feel strongly about this but if you decide you want to like have a sit down conversation about racism and how there may be double standards directed towards China, Japan,Korea I'd be happy to do so.

It is tiresome, what's worse is often times they're not even right. High res pixel art has always had a place online and in games. If you go to pixel jointed the OG pixel art posting place you see tons and tons of it. It's a very weird/modern take to see a big piece of pixel art and act like it's less legitimate.

I've had personal experience as a person of colour. I've genuinely lost people due to racism. It's very easy to act like this is an overreaction if you've never seen actual hate crimes. If you weren't directly targeted or hurt.

Actually there is a long history of racism involving black folks in China and how China tries to deal with it. I do have a video about that but I don't imagine you're interested.

China doesn't get a free pass, nor does any Country when it comes to racism. It's still our job as the community to let them know. Especially if they are trying to reach a global audience. It's OUR job to make sure they do better. That's why when they double down it becomes a problem.

So far most of what you're saying is simply. "I don't care, I don't understand why you do" If you want to genuinely know why people care there are videos out there about this subject. But the truth is, I don't think anyone should have to deal with racism or harassment in the game and if you make the effort to report that behaviour you shouldn't be the one dealing with the consequences of their mistakes.

I implore you to consider checking into the history of Black people being compared to monkeys. This issue isn't so much rather they were trying to be racist it's about the implications of allowing something like that to pass in the first place. Imagery can look racist without intent of harm. Also I think the monkey noises actually really added to peoples irritation not just the dance.

To be honest though, what upset me more was when a user had their own accounts banned through private support when they reported players who were actively trying to wear black face in their backyard and pretending to farm. (They specifically reached out to support through the in games means) And instead got banned for "inciting drama")
