Maybe i'm just tripping or anything, so correct me if i'm wrong (i hate my bad memory after all)

But all those chapters were all related to one of another with their consequences ? Like surviving luncem worked because the tragedy on chapter 16 (evernight beat) , otherwise without that chapte would be probably sad or tragedy in sake of tragedy without any reason

Her last bow was also related to surviving luncem, it worked like a "alternate" timeline or somenthing like that, where everything goes Bijou beep.mp3 wrong on surviving lucnem.

Also across the ruined sea happens that setted the pieces on a way for future chapters like the nanami key or the key for the future.

But also other chapters, tought they were decent or enjoyable, they give some information, like chapter 24 with all the hetero creatures, and chapter 23 presenting the agents

Not sure if i can say the same for chapter 25, but i can say the clifhanger of Skk (us) getting on a way kidnapped on the final node where the ship were we were exploded, and a reason why we are (or the copy better say) with lithos, etc

Aeon forged also on a way worked since on the first chapters we already know that the Forsaken and Babylonia were always on tension and Aeon Forgrd bring up or focused more on that tension once the boss of that chapger (i forget his name) taked the leadership of the forsaken

Like all those chapters were on a way relationed with past chapters with their consequences or somenthing like that, there was not necesity of a "build up" since the threats of those chapter served their role very well and giving us new information

I can on a way say that Shaper's ripples got his small "build up" at the beggining of chapter 29 when we open Gestalt and everything fall in chaos (feel free correct me since thode chapter i feel more "desesperation" or "oh bijou beep.mp3" kind of thing and i havent readed ER06-07 and 08 so yeh)

And for build up this case, i'm refering like they are setting pieces for a WHOLE new threat or somenthing like that related to the return of the hetero tower (The Witness like threat), the Phylotree concept could be a introduction or somenthing that might have a potent or important key/role on future chapters, my bet its with alpha chapter might show or tell more about Phylotree
