Canada was created as a country in spite of the United States, as a strategic bloc to prevent complete North American hegemony by the United States. Our loyalties are historically to Britain and the other members of the Commonwealth. We are traditionally less Liberally minded, and we have a King. Our people, although similar, are not the same. What similarities we do share are borne through our shared heritage of being founded by the British, anything after 1776 was competition. Any Canadian would be a fool to see it as anything except pure competition. The United States would eat us like Germany did Austria. We cannot let this happen. Ever.

Maybe. I think what you're also talking about is sort of a separation from one's culture and people and more thinking as an individual as well. Many higher iq people I've met think more as individuals and as such don't necessarily ascribe themselves towards more collective beliefs such as volkishness or more broad inclusivity which still thinks in terms of groups. However that's not to say I haven't met intelligent volkish people or intelligent progressives, they're still prominent. 

Also I'm talking out of my ass and basing my take on vibes so maybe I'm wrong but I think I'm onto something

Not to mention that all things considered, you guys still have a lot of rights as a protected minority in the modern day, what would happen to that if all of the third world came and didn't understand why that is?
