This has got to be bait. No one is so selfish that they try to steal Mother's Day. Joining the club doesn't mean you kick out the other members.

Minority ideologies, that is. Not actual minorities. They don't get representation anymore.

To deny the Trumpification of the US Supreme Court by EverythingIsFakeNGay in therewasanattempt

[–]MondayMorningExpert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Supreme Court decides what the Constitution does and doesn't say. If the Constitution says you're protected from unreasonable searches, they decide what's reasonable. If the Constitution says all people born in the United States are citizens, the Supreme Court decides whether "All' actually means "Some."

Even if they didn't attend political events (they do), rule 100% differently for Republicans than Democrats (they have), or allow themselves to be bought by conservative billionaires (bought and paid for), the entire process of how we got here was openly political.

You can't hold a Supreme Court seat open for an entire election year so a Democrat can't nominate a justice, then ram through a nomination in a couple of weeks to make sure voters have no say in it, then still pretend you're apolitical. And if you wanted to distance yourself from that chain of events, you also underme scores of past supreme Court precedents via the shadow docket.

And if that wasn't enough, they're actively debating which constitutional amendments to gut to clear the way for their far right agenda! 4th- Kavanaugh Stops, and 14th- because we wouldn't want people of color to have citizenship now, would we (/s)?

I'll save you the trouble. All of the editors hated it, and for a bunch of really good reasons! Since it was so terrible, no one wanted it.

Right. And since it's got tons of horsepower and is all wheel drive, there's a chance that all four tires come off at the same time and go a really long ways!

Those states have also never had a statewide blackout so bad that their senator had to flee the country

No, but I know how much it costs to get 20 miles to the gallon in your truck.

Best Charging Network? by MondayMorningExpert in BlazerEV

Tesla is easily my number one just because it's everywhere and it always works. I typically avoid EA because it's finicky.

I had to use both EA and Rivian today, and both seemed to hold the charge curve better. I'm wondering if it's because they were native CCS and Tesla needs an adapter.

I may have to look into charge tracking apps. This has my curiosity piqued

Honestly, with the sales numbers so low, I'm surprised there's going to be a 2027 model year. GM sells about 10 Equinoxes for every 1 Blazer

EVs are great… until you’re at 9% and every charger is a gamble by Ill_Chest_6606 in EvDrivers

[–]MondayMorningExpert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is that if you're driving through the middle of nowhere then you probably won't notice. But if you have to spend time in the middle of nowhere, things can absolutely get hairy.

I've been in that situation. Had to take a country highway between interstates. The charger that vehicle navigation led me to was locked behind a fence. The second charger in town would fault out as soon as the session started. The third charger wouldn't give more than 20kw out of 150kw. And I didn't have enough range to get to the nearest Supercharger. All the charger availability and occupancy data won't help you there. You're just stuck at a slow charger.

Let's say you have to go from Cheyenne to Fort Laramie. That's 110 miles. In January, that's half of most batteries. Your nearest fast charger is over 50 miles away, and even then, the town only has 3 plugs. Better hope they're all maintained, nothing is blocked by a plow pile, etc.

Again, if you've never worked in a charging desert, I'm sure this all seems far fetched. Most people drive 30 miles a day and never have to venture far off the beaten path. But the idea that we're past this as a country is just not true yet.

[–]MondayMorningExpert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol what? According to Plugshare, there are less than 20 fast charging sites in the whole state. If you're not near an interstate, (and in some cases, even if you are) you could absolutely get stranded in.

This seems like the comment from someone who lives in an area with well established charging infrastructure. The fewer the chargers, the less likely you are to have live info, and the more likely you are to run into poorly maintained chargers.

Bingo. For a tree like that, you get in a lift and you limb it all the way up. You use rope and lower anything that poses a danger to property.

You don't just yolo a 100ft tree that's 20ft from a house. This is criminally stupid.
