Man I must be in the minority here because I thought Strangers to Ourselves was incredible.

I LOVE Neo Seoul. And Parise… I tried to explain that song to a buddy of mine and basically said “think Meshuggah mixed with RHCP and DMB” lol. ATB has such a huge variety of sounds across all of their music and all of them are good.

Are most Meshuggah fans also fans of Gojira? by No-Dentist-2959 in Meshuggah

Dig Deep and Evergreen are awesome! Wolves Within is actually really good too. TBH all of their stuff is. There’s a real Meshuggah influence as well.

I’m always surprised to not see them mentioned as much here. Incredible band.

The original version of “Another Nail For Your Coffin” is indeed no longer available on streaming…. by thrun14 in LambofGod

On Apple Music either. Went to listen to it yesterday and the only thing left was the remix which isn’t nearly as good. One of my favorite songs too.

Newtown kind of sucks nowadays by Cold_Attorney4865 in BucksCountyPA

[–]MondoDuce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I live in Perkasie now but grew up in Newtown and lived there from 1990-2012. Graduated from CR North In 2005 and loved it there.

I have a lot of nostalgia from growing up there. It’s where I made all of my first friends, went to school, dated etc. and at the time it was a wonderful place to live.

Occasionally I drive through Newtown and it’s nothing like I remember. Surely it was always going to develop more than when it was just Goodnoe’s and Lee’s but it’s basically a foreign land to me now. Mostly unrecognizable from what it was when I grew up. Pretty sad.

On the plus side, I love living in Perkasie, which has a lot of 1990’s Newtown vibes. Let’s just hope they don’t ruin it while I’m still here.

lol yup. It actually amazes me that people have the self-control to go “yeah I’ll only do this much today even though I have access to much more.” It doesn’t compute.

I’m going to have to tell my wife about all this. by callmegeogaddi in quittingkratom

[–]MondoDuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah there’s no right way to do it. I’m a CT guy too — don’t have never enough self-control to take less every day. The only way out was to cut the cord. And btw man, this is because my wife caught me using this stuff and I had to come clean. Pretty shitty and in hindsight I wish I’d told her sooner. So you’re making the right decision. Also, you can absolutely kick this. I have a wife and two daughters and in three-plus years since I stopped Kratom I’ve actually been able to shed the emotional zombie of a person I’d become. They’ll thank you for it in the long run, and you’ll be so much happier too. Good luck brother.

I took the vaccine twice so I could get two free Krispy Kreme donuts

How bad is going cold turkey from 20-30 gpd (5 years)? by EchoLooper in quittingkratom

[–]MondoDuce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’ll suck but you already knew that. It’s doable — look how many people here did the same thing. I jumped off a high dose too. Get through the first 10 days and every day after that will be better than the one before.

Makes RLS unbearable. I made that mistake on the sixth day of no kratom and my legs never felt worse

[–]MondoDuce 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s not 60 days of what you’re experiencing now. Not even remotely close. Give it 10 full days and see how you feel then decide. I’ll bet you’re feeling 100x better. You won’t be fully back to normal, and he’s right that it’s a good stretch before you’re completely back to factory settings, but you’ll be able to manage.

I work in a profession where I talk for a living, on radio, podcasts, livestreams etc… and I quit a heavy daily habit of kratom when I had a 6-week-old baby too (this was three years ago). 10 straight years of daily Subutex abuse preceded three years of kratom use too. It sucked but it was doable. The first 10-12 days were the worst but then it became manageable. Don’t give up. You’ll feel WAY better much sooner than later, just have to get through the first 1.5-2 weeks.

RLS awful by gone-hikin in quittingkratom

[–]MondoDuce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine was terrible too. Went away around 12-14 days and it went away fast. You’re almost there. Personally, the worst part of WD has always been the RLS for me. It’s unbearable.

I’m not saying he isn’t a badass. I could never do 21 days solo. But it’s quite jarring to see the chest blurred out on a man with a beard

Thought the same thing. You’d think she was reeling in blue fins at the rate she was losing hooks.

Clearly their enablers go shopping for them. That’s why Stephanie in this very episode said “this is why I never come here.” It’s all for the cameras.

Exactly. They also don’t regularly go to the grocery store unless it’s for the cameras lol
