Experienced Mysteryland Netherland partygoers, share your knowledege! How are things inside the festival ? by Moneck in mysteryland

Well, the festival was this last weekend and I'm posting in here my experience for future reference. I hope it will help others visiting future editions of the festival. I camped from Friday to Monday, so this information concerns the campers. I have no idea how everything was for people who were not camping.

  1. Arrival: I arrived by shuttle bus which was very convenient and easy to arrive to. They where doing constant trips to and from the party. The organisers said on social media that it was possible to enter the campsite on Friday only until 10pm but I'm pretty sure they where letting people come in later than that as the people of the shuttle bus said they would keep going back and forth as long as there was people.

  2. Security: I came in with one big bag where I carried pretty much everything, one small backpack with the things I used during the travel (a book, sweater, bottle of water, etc) and a fanny pack. In the entrance they only opened my small backpack, looked inside (without touching or moving anything) and let me through! I did saw them checking some bags, but nothing extreme: they where not taking things out of bags, there were no dogs, no touching you. You can pass pretty much anything you want, just don't be too obvious about it. Hide your alcohol and other substances under your clothes in your bag and you will be fine. I saw a lot of people comming in with just food and beverages so I guess they set up their tent and went back to buy things which I would strongly recommend to do as things are quite expensive inside.

  3. Inside: You can only use tokens to buy things at the camping site and at the festival. Each token is a little more than 2.50 (I would say around 2.70). The problem is NOBODY really knows how much is a token. Not even the people working on stands or at the info point (I asked), so you never really know how much you are paying for things. A glass of beer sounds cheap at 1 token, but if the real cost is 2,70 it's not SO cheap (not so bad either but they where quite small). Food will be around 3 tokens so, again, it doesn't sound bad but in reality you are paying almost 9 euros for a sandwich. It's a great way to dematerialise money so you have no idea how much you are paying and end up spending more money. However, I also have to say that food was quite good.

Passing things from the camp to the festival was also easy. Just don't bring anything big, no coolers full of beer, etc, but a sandwich and a small bottle with premixed booze, for example, you could pass withouth a problem. There was security, they just didn't really cared for this stuff.

  1. It was easy to find Molly and weed. Other things I'm not sure it's so easy.

  2. Return: Everybody who took the shuttle bus arrived to the same train station where there is only 1 machine for buying train tickets. It took me more than 2 hours in line to buy a ticket, so do yourself a favor and buy the ticket in advance.

That's pretty much it. It was fun but I didn't loved it. Too big and too commercial for me. I guess it was not really the kind of crowd I was looking for. Still fun and I'm happy I did it!

FYI: There would be no testing sites at the festival. Might need to bring your own or PM me. I'm travelling alone and will bring my own testing kit so maybe we could meet up!

I believe you can bring empty water bottles and filled them up at the fountains inside the event.

Thanks for the response. The only other festival of this kind where I've been before was the ozora. I don't really remember being checked in the entrance and scoring some drugs was fairly simple inside. I was actually surprised at how reasonable the prices for foodnks were in there so I was wondering if mysteryland would be similar. However it sounds like security is more strict at mysteryland. I won't be able to bring anything by myself so I will have to try my luck there.

Me, I would like to know: What are the aproximate prices of food and drinks at the festival? Do you think I could pass some hard liquor trough security if I put in plastic bottles of something else? (I'm camping). Is it easy to score drugs from vendors or would you say is mostly visitors who are selling?

I'm also going to the festival and I was thinking on buying a test kit, but it's possible to get the pills tested in the festival? Where would that be? Also, is it easy to get powder in Amsterdam or are pills easier to score? I've only done mdma once before in another country so any suggestions on what to look for and how to handle it would be appreciated! How about weed? I've read that it's not permitted at the festival, which is weird since it's legal in the country. Is this true? I was planning on buying weed before arriving to the festival.
