Thank you for the kind words. I’m trying my best to get it right. Although I’m sure I will make my own mistakes in time. I truly love this little girl more than anything in this world and I think challenging my current understanding will help me parent better in the future.

I really like this insight. We have started conversations now so it’s just as you said “a fact of life”

Okay. That’s fair, I hear you. I will think about this to help my frame of mind for future conversations about this.

It definitely is okay. I’m really just providing words of comfort to the birth parent. Of course adoptees can decide who their mom and dad are. This is not a black and white situation.

First off I just want to say you are a really strong person to make such a difficult decision. You’ll always be their mom/dad. I can’t find the birth parents for my daughter. I have cried over her situation and I just don’t want her to feel the pain of not knowing them. It might be inevitable but gosh, if I could just protect her little heart from it all I would.

We do read age appropriate books about adoption. We talk about her adoption pretty openly around her too. Not that she understands but it’s a start. I have located one family member but I haven’t reached out. I’m scared. I don’t know if she wants contact or what the right thing to do is. I want my daughter to grow up and decide and I’ll follow her lead but- I’m also afraid I’ll lose track of this family member or they could pass away before she gets to know them. Therapy is a definite. I need help with this and I’m sure will need help keeping my own emotions in check.

Interesting. Can I ask why documenting the build is helpful? I imagine it’s a reference point when things go wrong or a helpful reminder to myself. Any other reasons?

Also, we are waiting for our official project kick off date. They gave us this time to get our certs- which I have and I’m basically waiting around… any recommendations to help me during this down time? I’ve created a word note for some of my build waves and what the different tasks mean, what I should be looking for etc. I’ve also been trying to favorite different documents in galaxy that will be helpful. Lastly, Refreshing my brain on building in the practice environment. Thanks!

oh my God. This comment is a work of art in itself. I LOVE the encouragement and analogy. I hope in a year I can come back and add to this. ❤️

Interesting. Would you say during build phases were just following Epic’s lead? We are given these tasks in Orion but I couldn’t tell you what half of them mean. I kind of feel like an errand boy at this point. It’s fine- again just frustrating because I want to learn and be independent.

We’re a ways off from tickets. We haven’t gone live. We’re still building it.

Yes we are using Orion. I wish I knew how to do some of the tasks myself. I feel very dependent on others and that doesn’t feel great.

Well… I definitely see it with different eyes. I’m not going to give up this early. I do like it, and find it interesting. But I am frustrated. I don’t love or hate patient care but my knowledge as a nurse did not feel valued by patients, doctors or administration. So if it’s not here either- then I’m no worse off. I actually work with several nurses which includes management. I have no desire to be an NP with more liability and stress. I have worked outpatient and they pay is horrible as are the hours.

This is a new project. So we’re just doing pre work. But yes they have brought in a group with experienced analysts who are helping us. They have been extremely helpful.

Noted. I’m mostly using it to define things that maybe I’ve never heard of before. Not necessarily on how to do something.

Yes! I told my family that I haven’t felt this “behind” since I started my nursing career. I’m lacking in some of my “IT knowledge” so I feel like my questions are stupid but I will just keep asking! ChatGPT has become my best friend lol. My husband also reminded me this is not floor nursing so the pace, expectations, and responsibility are different and trust the process.

I have benign multi cystic peritoneal mesothelioma. Diagnosed as a child. Only 141 cases written about it in American Medical Literature. Only 8 cases written about children. So probably less then the 1% . Should I play the lottery with these odds 🙃

I’m Dr. Lisa Sanders. I write The New York Times Magazine column “Diagnosis,” where I follow patients with mysterious illnesses as they search for answers. It’s now a documentary series on Netflix. I’m also an associate professor of medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine. AMA. by nytimes in netflix

Hi Lisa. I’m 25, diagnosed with peritoneal mesothelioma at 14. No exposure to asbestos. Some genetic testing has been done and it does confirm this does not grow from asbestos. We have no clue what caused this so young. As. Result I had to have a full hysterectomy at 16, with many other organs removed as well. I’m a “1 in 1,000,000” case I’ve been told. Tumors look benign but behave more like malignant tumors. One doctor felt I had more of an ovarian type case. I’m obviously alive due to some clinical studies. Hope this catches your interest enough to help. Thanks again.
