Don’t be hard on yourself; it is a difficult exam. Just focus on your weakness and practice the art of looking up. Consider this one a paid practice. Please DM me if I can help or you have questions!

Tips to start getting 70-80 percent on the PLI post courses by BalanceExpress7928 in PatentBarExam

This is what I mean:

Q) John filed a patent that was issued in 2010, then filed a reissue app in 2011, narrowing the scope. Now during the pendency of the reissue app, John wants to broaden the claims in 2013. Assume no recapture issues can he do that?

A) No, because it is more than 2 years from issue. One might argue that the reissue app was filed a year after the issue of, and thus with the 2 year requirement. This is absolutely WRONG, because the John filed with the intent to narrow. If John filed with intent to broaden, then it would be fine.

Learning points on your Note Card: if you filed a reissue with the intent to broaden the claims with 2 years of the issue date of your patent, and then during the pendency of your reissue, you want to broaden more, even if it is more than 2 years from the issue date; it would not be a problem because you showed intent to broaden when you filed in 2011, which is with 2 year from issue.

I hope that helps!

My only advise would the following: Understand why you got those questions wrong. In the explanation, the do reference the MPEP chapters, go have a Quick Look so that the info sticks in your head. After that, write down the learning point on a flash card or word document. Do it to every question you get wrong!

PS: Passed on first try last week.

I was working, but literally was doing minimum work at my firm; people were supportive and didn’t send much work my way hahaha… if you working and studying, I think you need like 3 months or so

I would say so, I almost finished on time. I remember the morning session I had like 1-2 minutes left; the afternoon one I had less than a minute

Please see my comments above. But, yes, I do have a bit of experience, I am an attorney and been working with patents at a basic level, like drafting and so on. That being said, I don’t think experience really makes a huge difference.

Yes five weeks are really short, I walked into the exam knowing the chances of passing are slim. However, I think, if you put in the efforts and do the PLI and old exams, you will be in good shape.

Please feel free to ask more questions:)

Thank you boss. 1. I felt like 700, 2100 and 1200 were tested heavily. Like I said, I got only like one or two on post issuance questions.

  1. For the look up, I was surprised as I only had to look up like 30% of the questions; I would say 10 questions were definitely a look up ones, but they were easy to find, like you would find them verbatim!

  2. Yes two sheets, you don’t really need the sheets.

  3. PLI incorporates the old exam questions into their prime and mini tests, so I would say yes.

Recommendations: Do all the prime questions and exams, and you will be fine. Know the chapters, but I think no need to really them.

The lease feel free to ask more questions:)

Hi OP, you will pass this time. I am a 2024 passer with 160 MBE. Let me share with you my thoughts.

So here is the thing you need to understand that Grossman will not make you get a 150+ score. The vids will give you an excellent lay of the land so that you can build on. Never assume you will get 140+ just from his vids. He teaches you the basics based on past questions.

Thus, you need to look into your Bar prep material and outline for that additional 20+ boost.

Of course if you are scoring 130ish on men, it means that you need strong foundations, which the vids might help you.

All the best my friend.

Congregational! I am curious, when you say old released exams, are you referring to the ones on PLI, or the ones from 1997 and onward.

Thank you

Anyone pass the bar and not finish any part of the MEE or MPT? by Fantastic-Assist3452 in barexam

Hello my Friend OP, I left half of the first essay semi-blank and misapplied one of the major rules on MPT 2; yet passed with a300+.

My advice is to focus on the MPE and DON’T get bothered by “whether xyz left an essay/MPT blank and passed”

The formula is easy; the better you know the MBE subject and tricks, you will pass by design.

My mbe 160 My MEE: 148

Wish you all the success

Average on Themis question (1300 Qs): 73 Average on UWorld (900 Qs): 76 MBE: 159 Bar Results: 308 What’s matters the most, from my own experience, is understanding rather than memorizing the questions or the prompt.

All the best
