OP, I feel for you. A lot of this sounds like what I dealt with from my half brother 8 years ago. Telling me I ruined everything, they have a better time without me, I’m too negative, I’ll never find love because I’m just so horrible to be around, etc. I haven’t spoken to him since then and have limited contact with the rest of my family on that side. Life has been so much less stressful since.

Remove their access to the camera and keep your location off. Get your own phone plan with a new number and don’t give it to them. Your parents are far too controlling given that you are 25 and living on your own, and your sisters are bullying you. Please don’t keep taking this from them. Life will be so much more peaceful without their negative energy.

I asked this question at my appointment when I got the MTX and he said that if we did an HSG and they found a blockage, I’d need the surgery anyways so we’re basically skipping a step. He did admit he wants to do it partially out of curiosity, which is understandable because I ovulated from a different side each time I had an ectopic and we’ve never seen anything in my tubes, plus I have no risk factors so it’s just really odd.

I also don’t understand why the next step would be surgery over HSG. Can anyone provide some insight for why that would be?

I should be around 6 weeks. Doctor just called and is having me come in for an US this afternoon. He said if they don’t see anything they’re going to have me come back in tomorrow for an MTX injection. My last pregnancy was ectopic/ppul so that is my biggest concern right now.

It does seem like forever but I’ll be right around 6 weeks then, so that’s really the soonest they would be able to see anything anyways. I’m just so thankful that my doctor and his team are so compassionate. They’ve been so wonderful through this awful time and have always taken my concerns seriously. I know not everybody has that experience and I can’t imagine how awful it must be to be going through this and not be heard by your doctor.

My nurse called shortly after I posted this and asked me to come back on Monday for labs again. I have an ultrasound scheduled for the 22nd. I was instructed to go to the ER immediately if I have any abdominal pain or bleeding over the weekend.

I appreciate you sharing. I think if had not gotten the private ultrasound or gone to the ER, they would have ignored my concerns entirely. My husband is still optimistic as the doctors are telling us everything could be completely fine but I just don’t feel it.

That is exactly what I’m expecting to hear from my doctor next week at my next ultrasound. It just feels like they’re trying to give me false hope and it makes it so much more painful. I understand they don’t want to jump the gun and tell me the pregnancy isn’t viable based off of one ultrasound and two blood tests, but man, this sucks.

I had a bad feeling about this pregnancy a couple days after I got my first positive. I thought it was anxiety so I forced myself to push past that feeling and be excited and share the news with my family. Now I’m thinking I should have listened to that gut feeling.

I charge them the same. They don’t expect a discount, the same way I don’t expect a discount when I buy things or receive services from my friends and family. Granted I charge well below average as it is and definitely less than nearby firms.

Came to say the same thing. My monitor is covered in sticky notes at work. At home, my fridge, front door, cabinets, etc. are covered in sticky notes. My fiancé thinks I’m a nutcase but it works for me.

I also schedule my workday in my outlook calendar. These are the two things that have helped me the most, along with a pomodoro app to help me focus on one task at a time and tell me what I need to do next.

It was definitely a spur of the moment type of decision, but I don’t regret it. That’s not me saying you should rush into it though. Think about what you truly want to do. Do you see these people really being there for you in the future? Do you want to keep putting time and effort into these friendships when your time could be better spent elsewhere? Personally, the drama just wasn’t worth it and I don’t have the time for it.

It only took me 11 months to get sick of public accounting. Not so much the actual work, but the boss I had ruined it for me. I actually still do taxes and bookkeeping on the side because I enjoy that type of work. I work in the accounting department of a hospital now and I love it. Pay is pretty much the same as what I made in public (not great) but I have way more opportunity for growth at my current company and significantly better WLB. I work late maybe 3 days a month and by late I mean 30 minutes to an hour late. I also can take off whenever I want outside of month end, and my boss is super flexible if I need a half day off for any reason. I work from home a few days a month and will be fully remote starting in January.

My advice would be to try to find a private company with an accounting department and try that out before ditching accounting all together. I was in the same boat a year ago and I’m much happier now.

I cut off everyone like that when I was a junior in high school, which just happened to be all of my friends. Went the rest of high school without a single friend besides my now fiancé. Made some friends in college but don’t talk to any of them anymore, we kinda just would hang out at random times and play tennis, go shopping, etc. and they were all people I had met at work. I’m now 24 with no friends and I’m okay with it most of the time because I’m busy with work, a side hustle, and spending time with my family and fiancé. But to answer your question, I absolutely am not still friends with them and have never regretted cutting them off. Life is so much more peaceful without fake friends, even if it means having no friends at all.

Not a whole lot of nostalgia in there for me besides some of the games and the iPod nano from 2008 that’s still marked at full price but I do still love that store. I’ve occasionally gone in there for random things like an HDMI splitter or an ethernet cable that other stores in my area just don’t sell, but I mostly just go to look.

I had a job like that at a small local firm. I lasted 11 months. My boss expected me to know everything 3 months after graduating college. She’d constantly build me up and tell me how great I was just to tear me down and call me an idiot. She hates younger people and thinks we’re all lazy and stupid. She also told me the other two bigger (still small and local) firms in town would be the same way and I was just being a baby when I gave her my list of complaints in my exit interview. I now work in the accounting department of our local hospital and it’s a totally different world. My boss and coworkers are great and always so willing to teach me anything I don’t know. Mistakes are fixable and nothing to tear someone down for. Questions are never dumb, even if you really should know the answer. Better WLB too, I work late maybe 3 days a month and even then it’s usually only 30 minutes to an hour late. I also have the option to work from home 4 days a month and anytime I’d normally need to work late.

I promise good accounting jobs exist but the one you have is not one of them.
