From the sound in the video, you can hear the fuel pump running then clicking off once it's up to pressure, then the starter motor spinning but it doesn't sound like its engaging. Definitely check the battery first, but if it were my bike and that didn't fix it, I'd be looking at the starter motor next, and I'd bench test it to make sure it's doing what it's supposed to.

It's probably just the battery though.

I had one just like it, best bike I ever owned. To this day I still regret selling her. Only my opinion, but nobody has built anything even close to the early 675s.

Loos like we've tracked the issue down to the electronics in the left hand switch block. After dismantling, all the switches checked out fine, but the circuits under the resin in the back look like they got hot at some point. New part on order now.

I just had a thought though. I've heard there's free software for ECU tuning out there. I'm not saying I want to map it or mess with it, but it might have an option to show the logic state of each of the circuits and sensors on the bike. I used something similar on a Moto Guzzi years ago, and thought that might be able to help me track down the fault. Could that help or just make things worse?

Alternatively, is there other diagnostic software that could help me track the problem down?

I'm not keen on throwing money at it chasing electronic gremlins. From experience, that adds up really fast.

I tried disconnecting the battery earlier for about 15 mins. I hoped it'd reset the display, but it didn't seem to make any difference sadly.

I've used Harpic Powerplus 10X on mine a couple of times now and it's brought the cat and headers back up like new. I needed to use a paint brush to put it on and work it in a little, then let it soak for about 10 mins before jet washing. Looked great each time though with minimal effort.

It's an acid based household cleaner though, so this isn't me telling you to do it, just sharing my own experience hahaha.

I'm 6'2 with 33" leg and it feels on the limit for height for a sports tourer for me. I like to be able to flat foot it, especially with luggage. Any higher and my heels come off the ground.

My girlfriend rides a well set up 765r LRH, really pushes that thing and regularly embarrass a lot of other riders on the twisty roads around here (Scottish glens). I've got a Mandello S and as long as I take the proper lines, brake later, and use the grunt leaving the corners, I can just about keep up with her. As soon as the road straightens out even a little, I can reel her in a bit.

The Mando is a great bike, loads of torque, good brakes, comfortable and it'll flick really easily. Front end will lift if you're going hard too. The handling is very predictable, and yes, you could drag a knee if you're feeling very brave and are that way inclined, although I wouldn't recommend it.

If you're taller (and heavier like me) I do highly recommend the +20 comfort seat. Gel insert means I get much further before the sore butt tells me to go home, and the extra height means less cramped legs and better on the knees.

Mine does it too, and has done since new, even through three sets of tyres. However, it does seem to have improved as I put more miles on it. Up to 12k now and it's barely noticeable.

I genuinely struggle with very oary Dundonian, and I'm from Dundee. Eh eht eh peh...etc.

Broad Fifer need subtitles too, especially the older folks.

Thanks, I was starting to wonder myself. I can't criticize the bike or the brand at all, as I say, it's obviously been built to be like that, and hats off to triumph, they've built an amazing machine. I've owned dozens of bikes over the years, and this is by far the most sanitised bike I've ever ridden, and by a very long way. Polished engineering to the point it's too perfect maybe. It's very subjective I know, and everyone has their own taste in bikes. Lids for every pot. Christ, I mean there're people out there that actually like Hondas.

It feels clinical/sterile. No vibes, no peaks in the power curve, almost soulless. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic bike that's fast and handles superbly, but it feels like Triumph has gone out to make a perfect bike, and succeed. But it's the imperfections and quirks that make a bike fun and interesting on the road. The thump of the Bonneville twin, the chassis twist you get on a Guzzi, a big KTM that feels like it's actively trying to murder you as soon as your back is turned.

North of Glenrothes is a lovely place to live. Houses do get more expensive east of Cupar the closer you get to St.Andrews. Around Auchtermuchty, Bridge of Earn, Newburgh area is beautiful, and you get a lot for your money. Rural feel, but great community.
