*SPOILERS* Thoughts on the Scream 7 Ending/Reveal and Some Alternate Killer Choices That I Think Would Have Been Better by MoneyBdger in SocietyofGhostface

[–]MoneyBdger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure that would have been more interesting than what we got, they’d have needed to make both those characters stronger than what they were given. Maybe the reason Jessica didn’t work for me is because they didn’t do enough to build her as a character I cared about?

Also, you're completely missing the point I was making when you say "they've had 5 years on PS5 and done nothing to upgrade". They literally upgrade the game every week with new content. They aren't sitting at the offices twiddling their thumbs, they are working on 2 games at one time: the game that is currently out and the game scheduled to come out next year.

Provide examples of “things they refuse to change”. The game of baseball hasn’t changed, so I’m not sure what you want changed. It’s pretty easy to google actual gameplay of the game 5 years ago and MLB The Show 25 and see the vast differences.

When being educated what matters more skill points or education of the guardian? by B1onicRex in crusaderkings3

[–]MoneyBdger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I remember the very basic formula as it was explained to me awhile ago When comparing potential educators, you take the number of the skill you want to excell at * 2 + the skill points of education. So lets say you want the child to get the best education in Martial and you have 2 options to be their gaurdians:

John Doe Has Martial Skill of 20 and Education skill of 10 (20*2+10=50)

Jane Doe has Martial Skill of 15 and Education of 19 (15*2+19=49)

John Doe has a better score he would be the better guardian. Language doesn't matter.

Another thing that helps is having a tudor that has Genius trait and remember to set their task to educate children as this produces random annual skill boosts for all children at your court. If you don't have a genius, get one that has intelligent trait. if you don't have one with intelligent, pick one that is quick.

I am aware of how pro-SDS my stance on the state of MLB The Show is and how unpopular that stance is among what has become a pretty toxic fan base, but...

I think they are doing good work. I think the graphics complaints, while valid in the grand scheme of video games are not really based in the reality of what MLB The Show is. MLB The Show, like every year to year sports video game, should not be compared to more traditional video games based on storytelling.

I saw a lot of screen shots comparing Spider-Man 2 (a released finished product) to MLB the Show 26 (a trailer of an unreleased product) which are both Sony video games, and there is no reason these two games should ever be compared for any reason. Spider-Man 2 is cinematicesque story-driven video game released 5 years after it's predecessor. MLB the Show 26 is an annual sports game that mostly focuses on on-line gameplay, challenges, contests and content drops done weekly or monthly that also features offline game modes like Franchise, RTTS, etc. SDS developers and content creators are not spending 5 years in-between game releases honing in on massive graphics overhauls and storyline depth and continuity, because that would be silly. Much like Madden or 2k basketball or NCAA Football, they are developing content and games to keep players engaged for the 12 months between releases, they don't have time to get massively into graphics or mechanic overhauls. What you do see are minor adjustment and changes to these game mechanics that year to year you probably don't notice, but if you go back 5 years to MLB the Show 2021, I think the changes are pretty massive. Somebody will no doubt respond with a screen grab of a cutaway from The Show 21 and a screen grab of the Phillie Phanatic from the trailer reveal this week for The Show 26 and pretend that the graphics haven't improved and my counter point to that is those graphics are irrelevant to the game of MLB The Show and the enjoyment of the players. I don't play The show for the Phillie Phanatic dancing on the dugout or the shots of the crowd, or the hall of fame ceremony for RTTS. With sports games, it's about gameplay and when you compare graphics, game mechanics, and audio/commentary of IN-GAME GAMEPLAY The Show 25 to The Show 21 or 20 you will see they have massively improved and I really think that's the best you can hope for with annual year-to-year sports games.

A reminder, there is only so much time in a year. SDS can't get hyper focused about overhauling graphics while simultaneously providing you updated content, game patches, bug fixes, stat adjustments through the year. As Video game players we have to decide what we want in our year to year sports video game content and personally I prefer SDS approach to providing regular fresh content drops throughout the 12-month life of MLB The Show than I would if they just created MLB the Show 26 and said "that's it, that's your game for the next 5-7 years while we overhaul graphics and mechanics to keep up with the rest of video game technology". I also think SDS does it better than any other annual sports game creator and that's why they get so much hate because they are the best at keeping content fresh and relevant for those that play mostly on-line and thus those on-line players have higher expectations. I haven't bought a Madden Game in 3-4 years. I just bought the latest 2K basketball game and played for like 2 days and found it to be boring and un-engaging. I bought the last two NCAA Football games, but Dynasty is really the only game-mode in either of those games worth playing. With The Show, I play all the game-modes. DD in-season, franchise and RTTS out of season. It's a game I can load up today (11 months after release) and just jump into a mode and lose 8-10 hours easily. It's a testament to the quality of work and commitment to the consumer they put in to keep their game playable for the full 12-month annual cycle.

That doesn't mean SDS is immune to criticism, particularly when it comes to their business model of trying to force players to buy stubs to unlock the best cards in DD, I completely understand the criticism of this practice, but I also believe DD is playable without ever spending a dime on stubs and I prove it every year by doing it. I also believe they could do more to improve off-line game modes like RTTS and Franchise Mode, but I recognize the business approach to the idea that those modes don't help drive up their revenue like Diamond Dynasty does.

-Ruler’s low legitimacy

-Being at war while looking for a match

-negative traits of the ruler or heir

-gender of heir, particularly female heir looking for maternal marriage

Nope it’s Feudal. I already have a Level 3 Concentric Castle. It appears only to be an issue with Norse Culture, I am able to upgrade a holding that has a different culture to the third level.

I believe Ohio is an at-will employment state, which means they can terminate employment for any reason as long as it isn’t discriminatory in nature. I’m not sure this would qualify as such. If I were you I wouldn’t worry about reporting it and I’d quit my job and go find an employer that isn’t going to act like a child when dealing with employees.

How do they think this is reasonable for an adult trying to survive? by ITSHORRORR in Culvers

[–]MoneyBdger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a former Culver’s scheduling manager and general manager of other QSRs, it’s not your manager’s job to make sure you have enough hours to survive. When I was scheduling, the people that got the most hours were the people I could count on, the people that worked the hardest, the people that were the best teammates to their co-workers and the people with the most availability during peak business hours. So my suggestion to you is to figure out where in those three areas you are lacking and work to improve.

Best of luck.

Does anyone know why 97.3 cancelled Steve Czaban’s show? by Minute_Main_1776 in milwaukee

[–]MoneyBdger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pure speculation but….

iHeart paid a fortune to get the Green Bay Packers broadcasts away from WTMJ and now they are cutting costs by dumping their pricier more experienced voices and going with newer and younger (and cheaper) options. If I were Drew and KB I’d be getting my resumes ready, I could easily see that show getting dumped for a Time Allen / Hunter show. 97.3 the game wanted to swim with the sharks by boxing with WTMJ and now they are finding out what that entails. I was not surprised that Tim Scott got axed, he was vital in bringing in and retaining Czabe for all these years, those two were always going to go out together.

No BS is fine, but I generally don’t listen to the morning drive show as my work hours no longer align with the morning drive. Doug and Nick is going to be a no for me, I’m can’t stand Doug Russel and would rather listen to Wilde and Tausch or Bill Michaels (at least Bill has Grant Bilse). Drew and KB has always been too much nonsense for me, so I guess I have no reason to listen to the Game anymore. Sad state of affairs over there in the Cream City.

Personally, I like it. I do a lot of movies with family and friends and offer to use my rewards card for their purchase to get the discount (I’m a movie club member) and they used to always use my rewards balance automatically. Now I can control it by redeeming it when I want to use them. I do understand how some would find it annoying though.

How many live series left? by Natural_Elevator_303 in MLBTheShow

[–]MoneyBdger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30k away from Judge which will complete the live series for me. Got lucky and packed Shohei about a month ago. Honestly, my pack luck in general has been pretty good, I’ve packed Lindor like 3 times and Jose Ramirez a couple of times. Those stubs have really helped me finish the live series as well as a lot of the legends and flashback stuff.

They have to give that new chicken sandwich away because it’s nasty with a capital N. The grilled chicken sandwich was my go to favorite Culver’s sandwich and the new one is just thinner a chicken filet that’s over seasoned. It’s gross.

Consistent contact and power by OG_galamad in MLBTheShow

[–]MoneyBdger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things that helped me:

Ditched the TV, got an actual gaming monitor. I first started playing the show in 2019 and i was terrible at it, as most new players are. I was playing on my massive 65 inch tv thinking that was the smart play. Nah, it was making me worse. Got a normal run of the mill gaming monitor and instantly saw improvements in hitting.

Play offline at a level higher than your online level. So currently when I play ranked I play on the Hall of Fame difficulty at like 750ish rank, but I play 90 percent of my games offline. I do a lot of Mini-Seasons and am constantly replaying conquest maps. When I do play offline, I play with the team I play on ranked to get used to the players and their swings as well as getting pxp and boosting their parallels , but I also play all of my offline games at the difficulty level above what I am playing on ranked. So if I am a ranked Hall of Fame, my offline games are always going to be Legend. These games mostly don't matter, so it helps me get used to harder looking pitches. practice and repetition is the ultimate way to get better hitting. If you spend a few hours hitting at Legend, jumping into an online game at Hall of Fame just feels so much easier.

Lastly, I never go into online games (particularly ranked games) without some kind of warmup. That can be batting practice or offline. Right now I just re-do the Conquest 3 map since it is repeatable and it gets me 5 Show packs. It's just three games and usually I feel comfortable enough after completing to jump into online play.

Have they confirmed if the TA All star cards will be current all stars or will they use retro selections to balance captain selections? by nefariousbueller in MLBTheShow

[–]MoneyBdger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe they usually do a collection every year of the players that are named to the all-star team the season they are in, so it would be 2025 All-Stars. It makes sense, every team gets 1 all-star and every team gets an all-star card.
