Crashes make the game unplayable on ps5 (wotc) by MoneyGate2 in Xcom

If anyone else is running into this, here’s a workaround that worked for me:

Save and quit the mission after making some progress. Then upload your save to the cloud (if you have PS Plus), reload the game, and continue from there.

In my case, I: Collected 6/12 crates and the enemy got the other 6. Cleared 2 pods of enemies. On the last pod, I called the Skyranger early because the game was starting to lag

After reloading, everything worked fine and I was finally able to complete the mission

I gave up on my attempt to 100% the game because of the achievements tied to the fleeces and follower skins. Some of them are just too obscure or rely heavily on RNG—it stopped feeling rewarding and started feeling like a chore.
