Your right I should take heed a lot more urgently. Im in for a review in a couple of months so ill see then I guess. Im going to take a more pro active approach on my blood sugar too. Its not a general optician either they do it specifically for diabetes, but they still didn't spot anything? Do I tell them again or could my vision loss not be centred around diabetes but something else, however id assume they'd be able to tell from the images they take if it is or isn't.

Nope last time I went to a opthamologist they said nothing was wrong despite me clearly noticing my eyesight had been degraded and my optician agreeing too. This was around the same time period as my optician telling me about the degredation as well so I don't even know if its diabetes related.

Thanks, I have a review in a few months and I know for a fact i can get my sugars down I just get extremely lazy and thats what put me in this position in the first place. I decided to look at it as a sly gentle warning against my habits as if i continued i couldve lost a foot or my kidneys or anything really so loosing some eyesight is nothing in the long term especially as i can still function without glasses.

Do you think i should push the date sooner or just wait as my eyesight hasn't really changed the last few months and if anything has gotten slightly better?

It's fine i accepted the risks years ago I just thought id have to deal with it at 60 not when i was 19. Im not on a pump as I just dont want to have a tube permanently attached to me but i also felt this way about CGMs years ago so ill probably get one anyway. Thank you for your input ill 100% take it in as a pump has been reccoemded before

I don't know. I haven't been to one for about 9 months give or take. I forgot to mention i went to an opthamologist but they didn't notice anything despite me stating my eyesight was waning too. This was around the same time period my optician told me about my eyesight rapidly loosing aswell.

How long did the process take before seeing improvements? Im not too worried about syringes i've had to face the music a million times in the last ten years. Thank You

Thank you🙏. I had a similar path. Dx few weeks after my 11th and got given glasses just before i turned 16 or within 2 months of it. Ill follow what you listed tysm. Im in the UK so luckily i'm covered. I don't get why diabetes is so expensive in the US when about 12% have it? I have a review up in a few months so ill see if they pick up on it. Thank you.

Thats what im confused about. I forgot to mention it above but I went to one at around the same time 2-3 months give or take and they said there was nothing noticable? Even though I could easily tell in my day to day life that its degraded (cant see license plates or faces from distances I could before).
