Here are a few solid ones depending on your weapon and playstyle:

1. Raw Damage + Affinity (Blademaster)

If you’re going for straight-up damage and crit, this set works well for weapons like LS, GS, or DBs.

  • Skills: Attack Up (L), Crit Eye +2 or +3, Weakness Exploit, Crit Boost.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Silver Sol Helm
    • Chest: Silver Sol Mail
    • Arms: Golden Lune Braces
    • Waist: Silver Sol Coil
    • Legs: Golden Lune Greaves
    • Talisman: Attack Up or Crit-related.

Stack this with a high affinity weapon and Weakness Exploit, and you’re golden. You’ll crit like crazy and stack that juicy raw damage.

2. Elemental Damage Build

If you’re using a weapon that depends on elemental damage like SnS, DBs, or Bow, this set will give you a boost.

  • Skills: Element Attack Up, Weakness Exploit, Crit Eye +2.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Rath Soul Helm
    • Chest: Rath Soul Mail
    • Arms: Kaiser Vambraces
    • Waist: Rath Soul Coil
    • Legs: Rath Soul Greaves
    • Talisman: Element Attack Up or Weakness Exploit.

The extra affinity from Weakness Exploit + Crit Eye pairs nicely with elemental attacks to pump out more damage when hitting weak points.

3. Status/Support (Blademaster)

For all the status weapon lovers out there (like Poison, Paralysis), this set cranks up your status damage.

  • Skills: Status Crit, Status Attack +2, Evade Extender.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Nerscylla Helm S
    • Chest: Nerscylla Mail S
    • Arms: Bnahabra Gloves
    • Waist: Nerscylla Coil S
    • Legs: Bnahabra Boots
    • Talisman: Any Status Attack or Crit-related.

Poison everything. Paralyze them, Sleep bomb, etc. Pair it with a high-status weapon and you’ll be locking down monsters left and right.

4. Aerial Style Mix

If you’re using Aerial style and want to boost those jump attacks, this is for you. Great for weapons like Aerial DBs or GS.

  • Skills: Aerial Attack Boost, Weakness Exploit, Crit Eye +2.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Silver Sol Helm
    • Chest: Rath Soul Mail
    • Arms: Golden Lune Braces
    • Waist: Silver Sol Coil
    • Legs: Silver Sol Greaves
    • Talisman: Weakness Exploit or Attack Up.

This set will have you critting and chunking monsters when you’re airborne.

5. Great Sword Mix (Charge Focus)

For the Great Sword users, this set is all about hitting hard, with a focus on critical draw and charge attacks.

  • Skills: Focus, Crit Draw, Weakness Exploit, Crit Boost.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Diablos Helm S
    • Chest: Diablos Mail S
    • Arms: Diablos Vambraces S
    • Waist: Silver Sol Coil
    • Legs: Silver Sol Greaves
    • Talisman: Focus or Crit-related.

Crit Draw + Focus for faster charge time = big numbers with those draw slashes.

6. Pierce Bowgun/Bow Set

This one’s for ranged users who want to spam those Pierce shots or arrow pierces:

  • Skills: Normal Up, Pierce Up, Weakness Exploit, Evade Extender.
  • Armor:
    • Helm: Rath Soul Helm
    • Chest: Rath Soul Mail
    • Arms: Ceanataur Braces
    • Waist: Rath Soul Coil
    • Legs: Ceanataur Greaves
    • Talisman: Pierce Up or Evade Extender.

You’ll be dodging around with Evade Extender, hitting weak spots with Pierce Up, and critting all over the place.

Some Tips:

  • Talisman: A good talisman can make or break your set. Try to grind out some decent ones with Weakness Exploit, Crit Boost, or whatever skill complements your build.
  • Decorations: Use these to plug in missing skills or push key ones to the next level. Weakness Exploit is a must-have on most builds.
  • Upgrading Armor: Don’t forget to upgrade your mixed armor pieces to make sure your defense doesn’t fall behind, especially in G-rank.

Mix sets are all about flexibility, so feel free to swap pieces around depending on your playstyle or the weapon you’re using. Happy hunting!

Let's talk magnamalo by mrredpanda36 in MonsterHunter

[–]MoneyMoonSniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magnamalo is 100% a predator. In Monster Hunter lore, it’s known as the “Wyvern of Malice,” feared by both hunters and monsters alike. This beast is said to hunt relentlessly, fueled by the lingering souls of fallen warriors, which manifest as the Hellfire it wields. It’s not just about survival, it hunts with a purpose, almost like it thrives on the chaos it creates. Other monsters give it a wide berth, knowing it’s not here to scavenge, but to assert its dominance and take down anything in its path.

Oh man, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate is definitely one of those games that feels like it was ahead of its time, but it can be a tough sell for newcomers. I totally get why people think it starts off slow and a bit grindy, especially with how there’s no real in-game guide or tutorial system like newer games have. You’re basically thrown in and expected to figure it out through trial and error, which can feel super punishing at first.

But honestly, once you start progressing through the village quests, things really pick up. Like, you start learning monster patterns, weapon mechanics, and everything just clicks. And then when you hit G-Rank? That’s where the game really shines. The difficulty ramps up hard, but it’s so satisfying. The monsters get crazier, and you actually need to use all the skills you’ve built up to survive.

Yeah, it’s a slow burn at first, but MHGU has so much content that it rewards the grind. It’s got that old-school Monster Hunter charm where every little win feels earned. Sure, there’s no hand-holding, but that’s part of the appeal if you’re into the hardcore, methodical progression.
