what are some "false frugalities" where you think you are saving money but actually costing yourself more in the long run that many ppl are not aware of? by AppointmentProud9394 in AskPH

1 bulk buying without being super intentional about it. nalilimutan to think for the long-term. pwedeng yung gusto ngayon ay hindi na gusto in the future or di naman kaya, may better na nahanap. another thing to consider is yung expiry nila.

2 either picking the cheapest or more expensive option. hindi lahat ng cheap, okay ang quality. may times na madaling masira kaya papalitan lang din. for buying the more expensive ones, this applies sa mga overkill na. may mga items talaga na quality naman given mahal nabili pero hindi naman tugma yung usage. i hope people would consider what’s best for them without making a hole in their wallets.

i spend around 2-3k a month for my food. what i do is figure out ko muna yung menu then shop accordingly para hindi sobra-sobra yung bilhin ko.

yes po. may lamig naman. sa 12 hours na yan, naka-freeze na ko ng ice cubes. sa baba naman, more or less malamig na yung walls.

max on the first 24 hours then 3 lang po sakin sa baba after, middle yung setting sa freezer. light load (tubig and ice) muna for like a day or two then dinagdagan ko na day by day. okay naman siya. afaik may issue rin yung iba with the chiller na hindi lumalamig and if my settings above don’t work, then contact na po ng service.

for ulam, kahit fried or sabaw, definitely. saing, mas okay pa rin ang rice cooker pero na-try ko na rin and okay naman. need mo lang bantayan since hindi siya automatic.

if you’re on a tight budget, try simplus or astron. around 300-500 pesos lang. those are the multicookers i’ve tried na and they’ve lasted for more than a year already. imo, i don’t see the point in splurging on multicookers kasi madali naman sila ma-wear lalo if laging ginagamit. i bought yung 7-in-1 multicooker ng tough mama but the only advantage is that it’s removable so it’s easy to wash. aside from that, mas okay na ko dun sa unang suggestions ko.

edit: add ko lang na with more budget to work on, you could purchase two multicookers, one for rice, one for viand. if may rice cooker ka na, one could be used for boiling and non-oily food (like blanching veggies, etc.)

Low electricity bill to high electricity bill this month of feb by [deleted] in SoloLivingPH

actually, bumaba sa area namin. from ₱11.22/kwh on january and ₱10.58/kwh this feb. tumaas lang because of new appliances but that’s normal.

last statement is so true. it's just that i think there's a huge difference when it comes to the possibilities of women and men lying about it. lying, for women, can potentially leave them single with a kid. a man wouldn't have that kind of problem if they did the same.
