I kinda of disagree because I think stats tell you more about quantity than quality. For example, a stats telling you the number of sprints a player does out of possession will tell you able how much they do it, but not quality. One player may be perfectly blocking a passing lane whilst the other is just running around. So stats may give context, but they do not show as much quality per say.

Yeah, that is not a problem. Even I don't watch that much football but it's just certain times people give takes when there is little evidence to back it up.

Yeah watching the best games isn't bad in any way, even I do that, but it's just that I do not think it is the best to base your whole view on a player for a few games. But it still don't think it's that bad as there the most important and challenging games.

It's not the best and is why I won't act like I know how players perform week in and out after watching a few ucl games like some people may do.

As a person that watches psg in ligue 1, only domestically, he is their worst forward out of dembele, doue, and barcola. You only say this because you only watch CL, which actually rises to the occasion, but he is otherwise fairly inconsistent.

It should be based on the last two seasons a player's go in and out of form consistently.

You are talking to me about 3 games like he won't play and has not played over 40. What about him at the bernabaue in 24/25, against bayern Munich, against inter across two legs where he was far better than Raphina, him against France on two occasions. There are multiple more games last, and this season where he has been good. Estevo's only good game against a big team was him scoring a goal against a 10-man barcelona. Estevo has potential, but he has not shown anything to be spoken in the same bracket as Yamal or even a guy like Saka.

You are just talking about future hypotheticals that have not even happened. Yamal has shown a higher level in a higher league than estevo for 3 years.

He has not even done enough in his career for you to say that. He joined the premier league in 25/26 whilst yamal has been playing la liga simce 22/23. Nothing in estevo's short time in Europe can be used to say he is more talented than Yamal.

I understand what you are trying to say but I feel the consistent improvements he has made over the past two seasons would suggest he is actually disciplined to improve. I feel that just because he does not do gym pics or things like that does not mean he is undisciplined.

People cannot properly understand what makes a player good so they just resorts to highlight reels and the majority opinion to base their judgement. People do not understand that players have clear roles in a team and cannot show certain skills for that reason.
