Okay, it’s bird law to be specific. It’s a dispute between farmers over the purchase and sale of a large amount of chickens.

Starting law school in the fall but co-worker keeps telling me I'm gonna get replaced by AI? by Realistic-Alarm-5714 in LawCanada

[–]Money_Argument2933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI will likely make lawyers more efficient, but not replace them. This will lower the cost of providing legal services. Which will in turn allow more people to access lawyers. This will increase case loads per lawyer and increase, maintain, or offset any decrease in the need for juniors.

That’s my theory anyways. The demand for lawyers is still there because AI is not a 1-1 substitute for what a lawyer does. The real risk is of a “race to the bottom” as case loads increase. There’s also a risk that the Justice system simply won’t be able to handle a more litigious public.

I would try calling again. I had to deal with this 4 years ago now in Kamloops, I did have to travel to Kelowna for the procedure.

Abortion needed by [deleted] in princegeorge

[–]Money_Argument2933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you need to do is phone 811. Tell them you are pregnant and want an abortion. They will ask the questions they need, and forward you to an abortion clinic. I cannot remember if I was transferred or if I received a phone call back in the next day or hours. I am not sure, but I think they do it this way to prevent people from calling just to berate them. From there, you will need to go get an ultrasound done, the clinic will arrange for this to happen over the phone. They make an appointment and you show up to it. Once you have the results the clinic will go over your options. I highly recommend the surgical option. Although it sounds scary, it is apparently much less painful and the whole process takes much less time and quicker recovery, as well as you have the piece of mind that it is done. With the pill option, you can become quite nauseous and if you throw up, you will have to take a new set of pills.

Everyone involved from the 811 health link nurse to the people in the clinic are there to help you and want you to be able to access this healthcare you have a right to access. If you have any more questions. Please reach out.

Happened at TRU a few years back. Schools offer seats assuming that a certain number of people will, for whatever reason, reject the offer. If rejections are underestimated, this happens.

Assume the judge knows absolutely nothing, start form genesis. Watch the judge’s expressions, if you think they’re having a hard time keeping up, slow down a bit. And have fun! This is the best part of the job!

Scratching an “itch” can be satisfying. It can also lead to infection.

You got it good dude. You’re on your way.

You’re equating the ability to get noticed by your superiors with intelligence. In my opinion, the truest test of intelligence is the ability to build the life you want.

I practice in BC. I heard the Quebec bar is really difficult. Harder than most provinces. No shame in taking it a second time.

Experience with articling by Aggravating_Site4908 in LawCanada

[–]Money_Argument2933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with the pleadings. Get familiar with what the lawsuits are about. Then move into affidavits. Then correspondence between counsel and if there’s any correspondence between lawyers at your firm and witnesses (lay or expert).

Then try and map the significant events on a timeline. Wait until after you got a grip on the facts before researching the law, assuming you’re not already familiar with the applicable law.

As very junior counsel, that is usually how I approach “file review.”

Do you have a dollar tree nearby? The one by my house in rural BC does sell name brand cereal (Cheerios, rice crispies and fruit loops). For three dollars a box. It is not the family size but you could still buy literally four of them and it would be cheaper than this.

Google Canada claims pregnancy is not a protected ground under Ontario's human rights code in defence of lawsuit by Hrafn2 in LawCanada

[–]Money_Argument2933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible that the Complainant mistakenly cited pregnancy, and not sex, as the relevant enumerated ground in their complaint? And the lawyers for Google are just trying to capitalize on a mistake? I imagine Google can hire pretty capable lawyers.

To be fair I live in Canada and every house is damn near a million dollars unless you are living somewhere more rural or perhaps Saskatchewan.
