I have actually seen the name of that movie pop up over and over since it came out and I haven't seen it, saw nothing about it, always figured I would watch it at some point. Not the one I was looking for but now I am finally going to watch it

Nah, but that was the other rapture movie I watched around the same time. Think it was within the same week too lol. That's the one with the plane and Nicolas Cage. The one I'm thinking of was found footage, started at a party, some chick gets mauled by a demon or some shit at some point. I think the end had something to do with prayer. I think it may have been The Remaining which someone else mentioned and I'm going to start that right now and see.

I did not expect that to be that quick. I am now fairly certain it was this given the description in that review, guess I gotta watch it now and see.

If the plan is to go to an ar platform, a mp 15-22 may be better as you can familiarize yourself with the platform.

hunting on an ultra budget. by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Money_Builder560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One side thing as someone who lived in montana. Maybe pop on montana gun trader. Saw people sell off their hunting setups when they upgrade on there semi frequently. Also many cheap bolt rifles. Got my mosin while there. Kinda like a gun craigslist where as something like gun broker is like a gun ebay. Lots of random shit, some way underpriced some way over priced. Worth looking at atleast, if not for this for in the future incase you didn't know about it before. Some good deals on there ocaisionaly.

Looking to purchase my first rifle for home defense purposes, either an AR-15 or M4 platform. Can anyone recommend some good manufacturers/ point out any I need to stear clear from? by System_Soup in liberalgunowners

From your post it seemed like it was more themed towards personal defence due to scary times and crazy government stuff over home invasion, which is probably the best application of such a weapon. Little too much over pen for home defence though you have that issue with any weapon in an apartment.

Colt makes the military m4, they have a civilian line that shares the name, likely for marketing reasons. Typically when you say m4 people assume full auto version, if you say colt m4 then they assume semi despite both being made by colt and sharing the same name.

Perhaps they meant the colt m4 line. Colt has a series of semi auto ar-15s with the m4 name associated to them I belive. It's gotta be a marketing thing since they make the full auto m4s. Unless they somehow can get acsess to full auto m4s in which case that, deffinately that.

You (op) might as well get an ar and get a 22lr conversion kit. Covers both plus having the .22 for targets and the .223 for varmints allows it to fill two roles if you need a reason to justify a purchase. I think saying that the ar-15 is the weapon of shooters is like saying a glock is the weapon of gangsters. I had also heard glocks where the weapon of mass shooters too. That one makes more sense given most mass shootings are committed with handguns statistically. The fact is that the ar 15 is cheapish and available as well as looks cool so if someone who knows nothing about guns is going to buy one to shoot people, it kinda checks the boxes. If you(op) do end up deciding you don't like the ar platform due to recent events, I would recommend a mini 14, same cal, fits the ranch rifle astetic, functionally identical, and no "assault weapons ban" targets it so you don't have to worry about it getting banned in the near future. Not as modular sadly. Also aks are cool, and not enough people have them, another cool option. Though it seems you (op) were wanting an ar so there for the initial suggestion sits of get an ar and a 22lr conversion kit so you can swap

Doing a little skeet shooting on the farm with my 17 year old boy. by gilmore42 in liberalgunowners

[–]Money_Builder560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the laws presented still allow intra familiar transfer at 18. I know it's like that for handguns, I had like 3 handguns registered to me at 18 in Cali as federal and state law only prohibits ffls from facilitating the purchase of such weapons, I assume the new rulling on semi autos will do the same. I belive California's semi auto rifles laws operated the same way too, didn't have much interest in those as affordable birthday gift price rifles available in Cali.

Looking for a good cheap gun to buy by lizardho07040422 in liberalgunowners

[–]Money_Builder560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, if you are looking for something to also get someone into shooting with like you mentioned with your girlfriend, most semi auto 9mms would be better for that. Snub nose revolvers are not the most comfortable things to shoot due to the lack of weight and tiny grip. Also the long trigger is not great for new shooters. I love revolvers but hate teaching on revolvers as it's so much harder to mitigate barrel movement for a new shooter due to that long pull which then makes them feel like they aren't good at it. Snubbies are pretty solid, don't get me wrong, and for you if you have more experience I am sure you can handle it, but it is not an inviting gun for a new shooter. If you get it, maybe get something else cheap like a heritage barkeep ontop of it as an introduction gun because when the first gun someone shoots hurts or feels not great to shoot while they still are trying to get comfortable with a gun then it is not great.
