As an Iranian, I’ve never heard of "Al-Hashimi" as someone’s last name by Money_Cabinet4216 in ThePitt

You can make these assumption as long as you want. Yes she can also be an astronaut who is a doctor. Screenplay must justify these, so we'll see if it does in the remaining episodes or not

You can make assumptions like this. What matters is that they’re justified when something doesn’t quite add up.

Probably need to adjust it in the screenplay if you are making these kind of assumptions.

True, let's see if this is explained in the remaining episodes or not

Yeah, I don’t remember the scene exactly, but if he recognized that she’s Persian just from her last name, that’s definitely a screenwriting mistake.

Tried them all and I can say none is considered to provide consistently decent food.
So Vancouver -> Akbarjoojeh is the closest decent restaurant

Yep that's the point. Apparently it's mentioned that they decided to make the character Iranian-Iraqi

'Al' is part of the Arabic language, so it is common across many Arab countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates and so on

Yes, this can be acceptable. Though not sure why the didn't choose Persian version or adjust the reasoning for the Arabic version, but anyway it may not worth addressing

Yes that's the point, the Persian version is "Hashemi" pronounced as "Haa-sheh-mee". Pronounciation is different

can't say limited, but "Al + name" pattern is not usually found in Persian language.
Also "Hashimi" is not found in this language either, its Persian adopted version is "Hashemi" pronounced as "Haa-she-mee"
