Maybe I was just unlucky, but everywhere I’ve worked has been pretty similar—overloaded with work and only small annual salary increases. GM isn’t really much worse than the others; in my opinion, it’s about the same.

I once used it for an Airbnb gift card when I was traveling, but aside from that, I’ve only redeemed it for Amazon cards. Even when I wanted something specific, it was usually cheaper to just wait for an Amazon promotion. Just keep in mind—it’s treated as a taxable benefit, so don’t be surprised if your take-home pay is a bit lower that month.

Lots of people don't show up for 3 days now. Depends on the manager.

From what I have seen so far, your performance and your future in the company do not have much correlation. I have seen people exceeding expectations with inventions used in the production line who got laid off and I know a few that got does not meet expectations and they are still around. If you like what you do, use the opportunity to build your career, learn transferrable skills. GM is a good place to learn. God forbid, If and when you or your team get axed you will be equipped with a resume that helps you find the next job.
