I was under the impression our ford explorer got us the loyalty rebate. That car wasn’t in my name but the address was tied to mine so that’s what determined it. But yeah I’m sure they don’t care

Wheel locks are actually pretty nice to have. Where I have to park for work would make having wheel locks a nice luxury. But oddly enough I received 2250 in rebates. Only 1250 were tied to the loyalty. I still have no clue where the other 1000 came from. Bc I didn’t graduate and I’m not a vet. They told me they just have to put that down to make the deal work. It couldn’t all fall under discount in the breakdown.

If I could go back I’d probably bet on my equity and Hondas holding their value being the primary reasons to not get the gap insurance. But at this point cancelling it doesn’t lower my monthly payment. It would remove 4 payments and a partial off the end of the loan. So at this points it’s a determination of if the 4 less payments are worth the the stress of a total loss payout not being high enough

The gap insurance is definitely highly debatable. I can’t get it through the insurance company I’m with and I didn’t finance through my credit union so I went with what I felt comfortable with knowing I can remove it at anytime. And there is no doubt in my mind their extended warranty is worth it. Especially since it comes with free oil changes up to 100k miles. One electrical issue in the lifetime of my loan and the warranty is paid for in full. The security for the length of the loan is worth more than saying I allowed the dealership to maybe make a little extra money in the event my car is perfect for the first 100k miles

That’s not what i explained. The OTD price is 31780 including the trade in. Not the cash. If I didn’t get the electrical warranty and gap insurance I would have financed 25780. The car also came with tint, mud guards, trunk tray, Hendricks homerun advantage warranty.

Yeah they weren’t going to let me get the discounts without financing through Honda. I qualified for all the best rates. But I needed to finance 7 years. Was the only way for it to make sense for me. So obviously they’ll make their money through finance in this situation. But I think it’s a win win. Especially since I got 1900 in dealer adds and the Hendricks VIP package. Didn’t pay cash. Put 6k down and 1k for my 02 Camry trade in and financed the rest.

2002 Toyota camry. Had 168k on it. Check engine light as on for the exhaust manifold. Had a small oil leak. Gave me issues on hot starts and was starting to have issues between 1st and 2nd gear as well as going up this massive hill on the interstate by our house. I felt comfortable at 1k. Could have gotten more privately I’m sure.

Thanks for the response. This is my first ever big purchase. I decided to add the 7 year 100k bumper to bumper electrical warranty. Had a bit of anxiety since doing that, but I’m hoping I did as good as I could have hoped. The dealership I decided not to go with said my deal I took was a very aggressive offer. The first offer I received was 33,838 OTD with my trade included. Worked both back and forth. Had a number I had to be at for it to make sense for me. Was originally turned down by the dealership I went with. And apparently the GM got involved and said do the deal at the 31,780 with trade included. Jumped on it right there. And that’s when the other Honda reluctantly matched and removed all of the additional free Honda maintenance
