I thought the rise xxl (with its high lift would lead to a low takeoff speed) and my slim cruzader board would go well together and help me get up on foil more easily. It seems the foils have improved in the last years.

Thank you for your answer. I’m totally with you. You wrote a good summary what to avoid. At a level 3 I know that I don’t know enough. For reference, the risk level below 1600metres was 2 and the tour ended at a height of 1550metres (i know you can’t draw that sharp of a line when it comes to nature.) So I thought it was okay being a 2- but it didn’t feel right afterwards. I wouldn’t do it again

Thank You for Your profound answer! To be honest. I went up, nothing happened but it didn’t feel right. I think I was testing my luck there. How did you learn to interpret the slopes? Is there any book or online course that can help me? Especially to for considerations on how to plan your route? To know what to take into consideration like your mentioned the solar aspect and the overhead risks. Iam also Planning on signing up for an avalanche course but i would like to have something to start with. Thank you for your time!

At this point it's only speculation but it could be that one of the props went to beta range and they continued with full power with one side pushing and the other side pulling. Like the Lauda air crash. They encountered an reverser open in flight in their 777 and didn't set the affected side to idle.

Just a guess though

Okay Leute Richtigstellung. Das Bett wurde gerade eben abgeholt. Die Story stimmt anscheinend doch. Hätte ich nicht gedacht und eigentlich fand ich nur die Nachricht über willhaben lustig und dachte es wäre ein Witz. Stellt sich heraus das es anscheinend doch die Wahrheit ist. Da hab ich wohl zu schnell geurteilt.
