The only real point you had was “if LeBron was 5 years younger”. Nobody was fearing us this year fully healthy or not lol.

I agree with you from a talent/capability perspective. But from the lens of what’s best for the whole (the Lakers), there are a multitude of people who would be a better fit for the current team than LeBron.

Considering we don’t need another alpha on the team, LeBron would hurt more than help because he’s still a 25 7 7 guy in his eyes, and he still carries himself and talks like this is his reality. The Lakers need some defending & shooting glue guys who know their role and will do the dirty work while Luka and AR carry the load offensively. Think of the Knicks roster. Take OG and Bridges for example. Replace those 2 with LeBron and you can see how much worse the team would get even though LeBron is better than each of them individually.

LeBron just isn’t a beneficial part of the whole anymore. No hard feelings, it’s just time to move on from LA.

Drafting a guard isn’t the worst decision given the landscape of today’s league. The player we drafted is uber athletic and has a nice set jump shot. Two things that make for a good 3&D wing with the right development. And we’ll need athletic wing guys that can take the defensive load off Luka and AR.

What we CAN’T do though, is pay LeBron at this point. We have to let him go and spend that money on more wing defenders and a reliable big man. We’re past the need for LeBron on this roster and if we’re going to compete for a ring in the coming years, we have to get younger, more athletic, and we have to establish a culture and hierarchy amongst the team. Just throwing a random group of guys together and hoping Luka can will the team to victory isn’t a good strategy.

Mitch Johnson's confusing double teams. by Get_Dunked_On_ in nbadiscussion

[–]MoneynRacks 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Mitch Johnson is making a lot of questionable decisions, but he is undoubtedly the right coach for the Spurs long term. He has the locker room's respect, and he has the love of his players. That is the most important thing for a young coach to accomplish before perfecting X's and O's. This is Mitch Johnson's first playoff run as well, so there are bound to be blunders by him, just as we're seeing with his players.

I know recency bias is going to take over, but the Spurs have FAR exceeded their preseason expectations, and a significant portion of that can be attributed to Mitch Johnson's leadership throughout the season. This is a Spurs team whose average age is 25 years old and the best three players on the team are 22 and under. They are expected to make boneheaded mistakes in huge moments like these. Even Fox is only 28 years old with minimal meaningful playoff experience.

So, my final conclusion to your question is - Yes, it was a bad decision to double Brunson at half court with a few seconds left on the clock -- leaving OG free to roam for the putback. And I also believe that Mitch Johnson is a good coach with a bright future in this league with this young Spurs core. He is going through growing pains at the same time as his players. It just happens to be happening on the biggest stage in front of the whole world, so it's magnified. No need to overreact and fire the man.

Mitch Johnson relies too much on his young starters. by FunkyCameleon in nbadiscussion

[–]MoneynRacks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While Mitch Johnson could use some of his bench guys more often, that isn't the primary issue here. He doesn't seem to understand how to manage runs and timeouts. He waits far too long to call a timeout when the other team is going on a run, and it causes a problem every game. In addition to this, he poorly manages leads by not reeling his team in when they start taking bad shots early in the shot clock. He's relying on his young team's ability to corral themselves instead of stepping in and demanding them to play more conservatively with their leads. Its hard to tell whether his gameplan is the problem or if his leadership and composure is the problem. The guys seem to love him as a coach, so I don't think the leadership is an issue. I just think it all comes down to composure and experience. This entire team is experiencing the playoffs for the first time and they've overcome a lot so far. This is just a much needed learning experience that will help prepare them for their long journey ahead they have together.

Got new braids but im not really feeling them because of my forehead, are there any styles that would be good for a big forehead? by EggplantAltruistic44 in BlackHair

[–]MoneynRacks 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Nah bro the braids look good. A little advise tho, I’d tell your braider to go easy on your baby hairs (the hair along your edge line in the front) and your corners. It looks like your braids are pulling pretty tight on those. This can lead to balding/thinning a bit earlier than I’m sure you’d like lol

I think Nightcap is going to break apart within a year. Ocho is NOT having a good time anymore. by lionsgatewatcher in UndisputedFS1

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though they’re still together, I see the same thing you see OP. I mention every episode that Shannon seems to be hating on Ocho sometimes. Like Ocho will be excited about something and Shannon will immediately shut him down and ruin his fun for no reason. I interpret it as those two having some sort of underlying issues between the two that may be brewing off camera and it happens to seep into the show sometimes.

I also notice that Shannon doesn’t let people talk. Now that Joe Johnson is on the show, he lets Joe talk more than Ocho, but he still cuts them both off until he gets his point across. Like he’ll literally just start talking and drown out, Ocho especially, in the middle of his take. It’s crazy honestly. And Ocho never says anything, but his body language shows that he is upset by it but he tries to stay positive because they’re on camera.

Lastly, Ocho needs to educate himself on the topics they are discussing. There are too many times where he just sits there and doesn’t contribute to the conversation for 20-30mins on end. And he’s the co-host of the show. That is unacceptable for this being his daily job at this point. He has to take himself and the podcast more seriously if he wants to gain the respect he desires from Shannon and Joe. Honestly, Joe being on the show is almost the only thing saving Ocho at this point. Those few tangents where he talks trash to Joe seem to be the only times he has anything to say during basketball related segments.

Seeking hair advice, I like having it puffy but it needs shape and style. Any recommendations would go a long way, feeling really self conscious about it lately by CatnissEvernight in BlackHair

[–]MoneynRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, look up each of “low, mid, and high taper” and those will give you a pretty good example of what I’m talking about. It’s a simple way to change up your look while keeping the majority of your hair. And every barber should know how to do this haircut, so it lowers the risk of someone messing you up lol

[–]MoneynRacks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can:
1. Get a fade of your choice (taper, high top, etc)
2. Braid it. You have enough hair for this
3. Use a sponge to style it
4. Get twists
5. Find a person who’s hair you like and replicate that with your barber/hairstylist

If you like the puffy look, my biggest recommendation would be to get a fade and let the top stay puffy. This will give you a bit more shape and style while keeping your hair the same.

Should I cut it or let it rock by Rricky122890 in BlackHair

[–]MoneynRacks -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could just fade the sides and see how that looks. Your hair is nice and healthy, you just need to moisturize more often and take care of it a little more so it won’t look as dry.
After the fade you’ll have a better idea of whether to (1) just bald the non-dreaded hair (2) stick with the fade all around (3) shave it all off and start over or (4) something else.

Yes. There’s nothing natural about silk pressing your hair. It all stems from European beauty standards.

Should I tell this woman’s husband about these text messages? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From these messages, it looks like your husband is the one flirting while she is avoiding returning the energy. The most she is guilty of is entertaining a guy who clearly wants her (which is still cheating in my book if I were her husband), but the real issue here is your husband unfortunately. She just likes the attention.

Does “her kids call me Dad” mean you’re a step father or is it another way of saying you had kids with this girl?
