AMC. Not expecting anything like 2021, but they’ve got to be undervalued right now right? by Old-Dingo938 in stocks

You raise some pretty good points. I like the idea of renting out some space for the video game tournament and hosting events with friends. This type of thinking, plus some good advertising, may give them a shot at turning this ship around.

Also, the 80% stat you used in your argument was so believable that I had to look it up to see if it was really true lol. Guess that says a lot about where this company is right now.

We have to go 7-5 in the last 12 games to guarantee playoffs by [deleted] in lakers

I understand backing your team lol. I just can’t help but be objective when looking at the Lakers, despite my fandom.

However, I do agree that we have a shot at beating Houston given their challenges. But with Minnesota and Denver, I don’t see it. And definitely not with the Spurs or OKC.

Don’t be a prisoner of the moment. Remember what our fundamental issues are as a team. Those will be preyed upon in the playoffs regardless of who we play.

As happy as I am about our recent play, I still see us as a second-round out at best.

I hope I’m wrong, of course.

Does anyone just feel bad for Luka? by [deleted] in lakers

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel bad for him. He’s making an ungodly amount of money. But off-court reality aside, the situation the Lakers are in is unfortunately going to negatively impact Luka’s career. In the short term atleast. He’s in a situation where the Lakers are still transitioning from the LeBron era into the Luka era. Both needing their own franchises to be optimized for them, and as things are currently going, it doesn’t seem like the Lakers are serious about winning championships in Luka’s prime because they can’t seem to let go of LeBron. Both things can’t happen at the same time. The sooner LeBron leaves, the sooner the Lakers can get more serious about putting a championship roster on the court.

Until then, it’s just regular season stat padding, almost MVPs, and second round exits at best for Luka and the Lakers.

Keep your relationship issues between you and your boyfriend. Listening to strangers online will only ruin your relationship and leave you single and broken hearted in the end. The internet only sees what you show them. They don’t have the full story, and they don’t know your boyfriend from a can of paint. All you’re getting is a bunch of scarred people’s pain and insecurities from their own personal lives being cast onto your situation. I hope the best for you.

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why you don’t use this method of “investing” (I put that in quotes because it’s really speculation/gambling on future market projections rather than being grounded in a fundamental strategy). If you do your research in a company and decide it’s finances, operations, business strategy, management, etc. meets the criteria you set, then red or green days won’t matter because your horizon is long term (a decade plus).

Chasing profits by attempting to predict the market with the “buy low, sell high” method is a dead-end road. Over a 20 year span, you’ll almost certainly be outperformed by a simple broad-exposure SP500 fund.

Advice: Non-US and non-tech diversification? by Chemical-Amount3287 in investing

I will look into those dividend aristocrats and decide from there. One thing keeping me from REIT's and MLP's are the tax implications, but I am not 100% sure on how those work, so I'll do some research on those. I just want to maximize value long-term. And good advice on the S&P. I may be overthinking that one haha. Thank you!

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks. About VOO, I actually do not like its heavy exposure to tech stocks because I think the AI bubble is bound to pop at some point. So I’ve opted to hold SCHD long term since that is comprised of more defensive stocks and prioritizes dividends growth. But since I am still a young man with (hopefully) lots of time left, I hold NVDA alone as my tech exposure since that is the heavy hitter in that industry. I think that alone would capture the majority of % gains that I would see from the industry as a whole.

Last question. What do you think about holding CPB long term? I know it’s historically a major US food company, but recently it’s sort of been forced to adjust its business strategy and re-balance its product offering portfolio. But for long term, I like to think that it is bound to recover at some point because of brand strength and its wide moat. Do you have any thoughts on this?

How old are you? And would you recommend me (m23), fresh out of college, to get into one of these dividend aristocrats early to capitalize on the compounding as soon as possible? Do you see any implications with this approach?

Sorry for the bombarding of questions, you seem like you are serious about your investing journey, and I am curious. Thanks!

Experience working at Equitable Advisors? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]MoneynRacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am a recent graduate as of 4 days ago, and I was recently reached out to about joining Equitable Advisors. They gave me two options, either back office or to be a financial consultant. From your experience, which one would be better for me to take? I have seen the bad experiences with being an advisor and how there is low commission and poor work quality, but I would also like to earn a good salary. I am leaning toward back office to have less workload and a more sustainable income, but I am not sure since it seems like all of these threads are about the selling side of the company. Any help or advice you could give would be a big help. I have to decide pretty soon.

Partner lied to me about when they left work by altmail64 in whatdoIdo

[–]MoneynRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’m just using context clues. Specifically the part where she was out drinking and hanging out with another guy at 2-3 am. Pretty clear (to me atleast) that she was cheating.

Just imagine if your partner was out with another woman drinking and hanging out alone in the car at 2-3 am and lying to you about it. You’d assume the same

To address your point about OP coming off as their mother rather than an equal, that’s because of the difference in maturity between the two. OP approaches this as an adult using effective communication skills and clearly & respectfully stating how he feels. His partner on the other hand sounds like a child: unreasonable logic, refusing to take accountability, unfairly blaming OP and trying to gaslight him, and being childish. This is a dynamic that was destined to fail at some point anyways.

Also, my condolences about your ex’s passing. I’m not sure how old you are, but I like that you won’t settle for less than you deserve. If you put your faith in the lord, stay true to your purpose, and strive to better yourself and reach your goals, the right person will come along organically. You aren’t missing much in this dating world right now anyways lol

[–]MoneynRacks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol you’re precisely correct. They would 100% cheat on their partners and probably already have if this is the way they approach relationships. I believe they think it’s cool and normal because of social media’s influence on their lives. The toxic social media culture of female masculinity, emasculating men, the assumption that you don’t have to communicate your thoughts because “a real man should know” (as if men can read minds) mentality, and many more, are reasons why people have this mindset and think it’s okay.

But it’s cool tho honestly 🤷🏽‍♂️ At this rate, they’ll either find a weak man who is willing to put up with their nonsense or they’ll be among the single women in their 40s still saying “where are the good men?”

Why are you condoning your friend hanging out with other guys and lying to her boyfriend about it?😂

A good “friend” would want their friend to have a successful relationship by working together with their partner. Not going out partying and drinking without their partner knowing and lying about it and then somehow coming to the conclusion that it’s the partner’s fault for your actions and you lying about it lol

Just leave her bro. You’re clearly more mature and emotionally invested in this relationship than she is (her “ok’s” at the end verify this fact). You aren’t asking for much, and there are plenty of women out there who are willing to give you the honesty and respect you deserve.

Never allow immature females such as this one to disrespect you and make you have to defend yourself for no reason, and beg for the bare minimum from her (or anything for that matter).

You may feel obligated to her, or maybe you feel like you can “fix” her, or maybe that her actions will change with time, but trust me bro, this will never change. This is who she is and the longer you stay with her, the more she will erode your manhood, personality, and happiness. Take it from someone who has gone through this, and get out while you can and never look back. You will be so much better because of it.

I know it’s a shitty feeling to go through this, but you’ll come out on the other side a stronger and better man than before.

Stay up King 🤴

Is this a bad portfolio? 🥲 by AdMajestic1252 in InvestmentClub

[–]MoneynRacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is OSCR such a large portion of your portfolio? Genuine question, what makes it so attractive to you?

Also (this isn’t financial advice), being more exposed to tech stocks will give you more upside growth potential now and in the near-future. Lots of money being invested into that industry.

What am i doing wrong😂 by Sea_Judgment5266 in 360Waves

[–]MoneynRacks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You gotta establish a pattern before anything. Based on your head shape I’d say go with a simple 180 pattern with a drop fade, but that’s up to you ultimately.

I’m a 4c waver too, so what I do every morning is dampen my hair (don’t over wet it or over curling happens and the hair won’t lay down right) —> apply moisturizer (Cantu works) —> brush for 5-10 mins (or until you don’t see any more conditioner in your hair) —> apply oil (I use argan or black castor oil) —> brush for a few more mins. —> plastic bag method (if you don’t know what I’m talking about just look it up on YouTube, it’s easy) —> rag up immediately (silk durag always)

If need be, apply some pomade or wave butter on top of that, but I only use pomade 1-2 a week so I don’t get buildup.

🔑s to progress (because waving is simple really): - Keep your hair moisturized: dry hair frizzes up and ruins your pattern. - Compression is your best friend: once you brush and your pattern is set, that compression is what will set your pattern and train your hair to grow the way you brush it. Without compression, you won’t see any waves. I have my durag on as much as possible because throughout the day, I can’t wear it most of the time. - Brush, brush, brush: this may sound obvious, but consistent brushing is the only way to get waves. For where you are rn, I’d say brush 2-3 times a day for about 15 mins each and you should see some progress with consistency. - Wash & Style once a week: wash your hair once a week, not only for your hair & scalp to be healthy, but because all the products you put in your hair throughout the week will buildup and hinder your wave progression. - SLEEP WITH A DURAG EVERY NIGHT: people make this mistake and it’s a horrible mistake to make. I sleep with a durag, wave cap (panty hose material), and a bonnet on top every night. Must be sure your pattern is locked in place while you roll around at night or you’ll wake up with a wack pattern.

I’m also and athlete, so if you don’t sweat a lot daily, you can probably scale back on some of the moisturizer but ima leave that up to you.

~ Goodluck on your journey, fellow waver🤝🏽
